"Morgan was a huge asset in getting our roof replaced and new gutters. Knowledgeable in the process of working with insurance, he did a great job staying in communication with us as he worked through the project. The crews Apex used to complete our job were timely and efficient in getting the project completed. After the project was completed Morgan was very timely in working through a few small details that needed to be taken care of. Great work by Morgan and the Apex team!"

"I've had them out to fix both my air conditioner and my heater. Both times, the tech was early, friendly, knowledgable, and the bill was less than I had feared it would be. We had been without central air and heat for a few years and I was worried I'd need a whole new system. I did not. I am delighted with this company and will happily recommend them to everyone I know."

Small jobs welcome

"Bathroom Headquarters and his company was great to work with. I needed a custom shower and no one wanted to do the job the way I thought it would look great. He took one look at it and was ready to go to work. He had better a idea for material than what I was thinking of. I wanted to go with tile and he thought the Onyx material would fit the job better. No grout, no laying of said tile, and no future up keep on the tile. Love it. Once the prep work was done. my shower was up in one day. His subcontractors are very knowledgeable, neat and get the job done. I love my shower, I just have to wait a bit because of the custom doors. We had to get it all done to get the exact measurements. Knew that in advance and will be using a curtain till they arrive. By the time we bought the tile and paid to have it put up, I am sure it would not have saved us anything in the end. We knew what everything would cost. If something was not right, he took care of it instantly. He was always making sure things ran smoothly. Once our material was here they went to work. I would hire them again and recommend they for any work."

"I can't say enough about my experience with Peak Structural! Tim, Spenser, Kato, Aren, & DJ were incredible! They showed up on time each day, were considerate of my living space, exercised care to reduce dust, were reliable & simply did fabulous work! Tim also worked diligently to communicate with the home office to make adjustments on my invoice for work that turned out not to be needed. I am so grateful to have the confidence that I won't have water issues in my basement anymore! I would definitely recommend & would use Peak Structural again."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

You have three options in terms of professionals who can draw up blueprints: a draftsperson, an architect, or a structural engineer. A draftsperson can sometimes draw up plans for new construction, but they more often work from approved plans for alterations or to provide 3D drawings. Architects are usually the best option for standard residential construction projects. Structural engineers might be necessary for custom home builds or for alterations that could affect your home’s structural integrity. Draftsmen cost the least of the three, followed by architects and then structural engineers.

How long it takes to build an in-law suite will vary by type. The time it takes to build an addition will typically be less than for completely new construction. Expect to spend about two months if you convert a basement, attic, or other existing room in your home. New structures can take up to five months, plus up to two months to receive the required permits.

The best way to start designing a house is to know what you want before designing. Making a list of your biggest priorities in a home will help. Designing a house without an idea of what you need or want in a home will lead to many trials and errors that could make it harder to figure out what you need in your design.

Yes, most designers tailor plans to fit your budget. Discuss financial constraints during initial consultations.

Typically, general remodeling involves architects, contractors, interior designers, electricians, plumbers, and sometimes structural engineers. Each plays a role in bringing the project from concept to completion.
