The quoted 1/4 what the cost ended up being. I filmed the workers not working for hours at a time. Used substandard pipe that was thin walled. Pipes broke and they do not warrant their work. They put me on a do not service flag and will not do any work(not that I would have them) I just thought they would fix their mistakes. Do not use Suburban.

As has been stated here previously about SLM, they are SIMPLY NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION of dealing with these people. From the president of the employee-owned company on down, save for a very decent accounts manager and for their landscape architect, they are simply not adept at civil vocabulary. In fairness, as it is an employee-owned company, perhaps the president doesn't seem to be more than a figurehead, but he failed miserably as witnessed by the entire front-office staff (see below, since the instructions here ask for as much detail as possible), at representing the mission statement, which is posted in their lobby: "To consistently exceed the expectations of the customer…" Details: almost a year of planning went into the job. Job started in March. Personnel changes prior to this seemed to be a harbinger of issues to come: seemed no one was in charge of their process, despite their reassurances. Then from day 1, their approach seemed to suffer from poor organization and certainly suffered from utter lack of communicating the plan to the subcontractors (which they say on their website, they don't use…).

Initially, they were professional and seemed to listen to our concerns about getting proper grading and drainage. They did the initial kill off all the grass and weeds in our yard. They were suppose to do a second before they seeded, which they failed to do. We also expected that the dirt they needed to help grade the yard would be "clean". But all the areas that they added dirt to had horrible weeds. Also, on the grading part, they left us with low spots in the yard that collect water and the drainage route that they told us repeatedly that they had "shot" had high enough areas that the water from the back of our yard does not drain so we have large areas of standing water. This has also affected our neighbor. This has never been fixed. As far as the design of the sprinkler system there were several problems. First, we live on a dirt road and they put sprinkler heads right at the edge of the grass and the road. It has not happened yet, but we expect that we will have to have the system repaired after one of the heads gets scraped off. Second, there were areas of the yard that get little or no water - this has been remedied to some extent. Third, they designed one area to fail as they put a very shaded area on the same zone with a very sunny area - the consequence of this is that the shady area gets drowned and the sunny area is a bit dry always. They did nothing about this. Seeding was okay, however, in the couple of areas of our yard that have total shade, they planted the exact same seed as the rest of the yard and they should have planted seed that is shade tolerant. So again, areas that die out due to lack of sunshine. We have remedied this ourselves. As far as yard care, other than their routine service stops for spraying there was no care. No recommendations on watering schedule, no mention that we were over watering and get fungus, no cure for the many weeds, no fix for the areas that never grew grass. Responsiveness usually took several days before I received return calls. Getting a person out to look at the problems took longer, and as I already have mentioned, they never really did fix anything. Another thing that happened after they had finished planting the yard and were "caring" for our yard the next year, is that they told us that with the seed they planted we would have to reseed every year or two. We have a 2 acre yard so this is significant as far as ongoing cost. There was never any mention of this prior to planting. I have tried to call again regarding the drainage (I have given up on anything else getting fixed) and it has been 3 working days now with no return call. I would warn off anyone I cared about from using these guys. They seem great up front, but delivery of a good finished product is totally lacking and they are as high or higher in price than others. STAY AWAY!

Quick follow up and decent design. Took a few weeks to schedule everything as we started discussion earlier in year when still pretty cold. Was told up front approximately what delay would be. I called to remind them so not sure if I was already scheduled or not. But they met that new date and crew was really great. Not a spec of mess in yard, driveway or any place else. Very professional. they took extra steps and installed a temp snow fence to make sure my escape artist could not get out the gate if their back was turned.

Couple of issues were the new heads that were 360 not 180 but Daniel had already identified this and was planning to come and replace when I called about an area of sod that never grew. They have replaced the heads and the sod.

I wish the plants were bigger but I gave them a budget I could live with and they stuck to that. One thing of note, they guarantee the plants for full year and their replacement includes labor. No one else around here does that that I know of. I doubt I will need to as all the plants are doing great but it is nice to have that comfort that they will take care of things.

I will use them again.

OVER PRICED to put it mildly. Don't return calls. They do the lawn work in my neighborhood, and make a lot of mistakes.

I wasn't there, so I trusted they'd do a good job on their visits, and they did.

The appointment went very well. The technician spent over an hour adjusting the heads and replacing those that were either broken or malfunctioning. Very happy with the results!

They did a pretty good job. I suppose the only thing I didn't like, was maybe it had with the way they redid the watering system.

Received bid along with two competitors. I selected this company mainly because they could begin the work the following week. The irrigation and turf install was a fairly smooth operation. The problem came after the install and after I paid them in full. I have had shrubs die and have areas of turf that are too dry and other areas that are too wet. I have contacted them four sperate times over the last three months and they have not responded to my requests to fix the irrigation or to replace the dead shrubs and turf.
As a last attempt, I contacted a landscape designer that I know personally with the company and asked him to see if he could get the company to honor their warranty. It's been another two weeks with no response, so I have hired another landscape company to replace the dead shrubs, turf and correct the irrigation system. I wish I had subscribed to Angie's list before I hired this company.

Absolutely excellent service. They showed up when they said they would and they called before to let us know they were on the way. If any problems arose at all, they were very quick to resolve it. The best way to sum it up-with in weeks of moving in and having the treatments. To add this has been extremely easy to maintain since as well.. I recommend to any one.
