Classic Copper Works uses time honored German copper smith techniques handed down from father to son and passed on to our highly skilled artisans. We specialize in the fabrication of custom copper & bronze products and other metal specialties. WE DO NOT OFFER REPAIR SERVICES OF ANY KIND. Additional phone number - (888) 908-5339.

"Ordered and paid for custom awning that was to take 5 weeks. Its now been 16 weeks and still waiting. Owner is at best noncommunicable and at worst, rude. I'm now wondering if this is a scam and not a real business."

We provide service and installation for residential and light commecial HVAC work. We also provide custom sheet metal work, over the counter sales of HVAC materials, residential hot water tank replacements, and residential electrical service replacements. In particular, we are pleased to provide manufactured sheet metal pipe and elbows sizes 3" through 14", tapered pipe reducers in all available sizes 4X3 through 12X10, and a wide variety of venting tees.

"Tech came out and gave estimate for furnace replacement and also an estimate for both furnace and AC. Most of the reputable contractors I called were so far backed for replacement as far as timetable for the install. Since I had no heat and the weather here has been so cold in late Oct through early Nov they said they would schedule me as a priority. I compared the estimate with someone who was also having a furnace replaced by a considered contractor. They were gracious to share the cost and were on a waiting list until after the Thanksgiving holiday. The estimate from Debacker's was reasonable and I decided to have both units replaced. The techs that came out were courteous and professional and I couldn't be more satisfied. They came on a Friday to install the furnace to get heat up and running and came back on Monday to finish up. I would like to thank Greg and his staff for the service they provided for me. It was not an easy task because it was a crawl space install. I would definitely recommend and call them again for future service."

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

The amount of hail damage that warrants a roof replacement depends on the size of the hail. In many cases, a roof replacement is needed if your roof gets hail that is 1 inch or larger in diameter. You may also need to replace a roof due to hail damage if you notice several dents in the shingles or there are seven to 10 hail impact marks within a 10x10 foot area on your roof.

Homeowners insurance covers roof repairs due to sudden or accidental damage. This can include roof damage caused by fire, hail, wind, or falling trees. However, it likely won't cover any repairs related to lack of maintenance or regular wear and tear.

More and more insurance companies are writing torch down applications out of their liability insurance for contractors. If torch down is covered, they generally require a worker to stay on site for two hours after the last flame is extinguished.

For this reason, cold application modified bitumen—also known as “peel and stick”—is becoming more popular, and torch down is decreasing in popularity. Modified bitumen is taking its place, as it uses both hot and cold applications.

Hail damage is bad for a roof because it can leave the roof vulnerable to the elements. Hail may leave more than dents or scratches behind. It can actually cause the shingles to crack, which means water can leak into your home from the roof. Hail can also wear down the granules on the shingles. Without these granules, the shingles are weaker and more vulnerable to the elements, particularly wind. If the hailstorm is accompanied by high winds, it may take your shingles with it.

You may be wondering if you really need the snow removed from your roof. Since most roofs can only handle 20 pounds per square foot of snow accumulation, there is a tipping point when you are suddenly at risk of roof collapse. This can cause a lot of damage, not just to your home, but to your belongings, too. It also poses a physical danger to your family. Also, a lot of snow on a roof makes it more susceptible to ice dams, leaks, and water damage.
