"The service went well. They were not able to resolve the roofing issue right away but came right back out after we called them. The roof was still leaking but they made sure resolve the issue eventually. Two technicians came out and completed the job in a day. I was not home while they did the service but they did a great job cleaning up after themselves. I had no problem scheduling the service."

"They did a great job of repairing gutter covers that another company messed up. The corners look professional and they replaced roofing that had been damaged. They were friendly and cleaned up parts on the ground as well as taking pictures so we could see the before and after."

"Called on Monday, quote on Tuesday, and work started Wednesday. Very happy with the timing, but the shingles are not the same color as the rest of the roof and they are not even because I think I have two layers of shingles on the rest of the roof and where they repaired it only has one layer."

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

The number of roof vents necessary for a 2,000-square-foot house depends on several factors. The calculation depends on the net free area within the attic and whether your municipality requires a 1/150 or a 1/300 ratio of venting square feet to attic square feet. If you install vents with a square-foot opening of one, you'll need either 14 or seven exhaust vents and an equal square-foot amount of intake vents.

Yes, moss can be dangerous for your roof if left in place to grow without treatment. The moss soaks up and holds moisture. Having a constantly damp roof could lead to problems with rot for the parts of the roof that consist of wood. Additionally, a patch of thick moss may draw insects and birds, which could damage the roof. Thick moss could block the roof’s drainage system. Water then may back up after a rainstorm and cause further damage that could eventually lead to roof repair expenses or the cost of roof replacement.

If a roof is not vented, trapped air and moisture have nowhere to go and will cause moisture to build up in the attic. When moisture builds up, it can cause mold and mildew, leaks, and rot. It will make the space hot and stuffy, which can result in higher energy bills as the HVAC system works overtime to regulate the temperature.

Walking on an asbestos roof can pose a risk. Asbestos roofing materials can become brittle over time, increasing the chances of them breaking or releasing fibers when stepped on. Additionally, walking on an asbestos roof without proper precautions can cause further damage to the material. If possible, avoid touching an asbestos roof in any way and consult with a professional about removing and replacing the roof.

Yes, roofers can repair and replace roof trusses. In fact, because trusses are such an important part of your roof’s structure, it’s best to have a roofing contractor deal with a damaged truss. If you try to fix the problem without the right skills or knowledge, your roof could sustain further damage or even collapse.
