"Several years ago this company painted the outside of our house. We we so pleased with their work, we used them again to do this interior painting. In most of the rooms I had a pretty idea what color I wanted but for the ones where I was unsure, they gave me some good advice. The results are really nice. They even came back and repainted a room with a different color when I realized the first color I'd picked wasn't what I wanted. The second color is dramatic and we love it.
The painters were very pleasant to work with. They accommodated several requests I had that were probably no usual. They showed up on time, worked efficiently and did their best to stay out of our way (that being really hard to do since so much furniture had to be moved). They were very careful when moving things and as far as I can tell the only thing that got broken was a small glass that I broke while trying to be helpful. I learned it was better to let them do the moving, except when they asked me to take care of the most fragile things."

"Jon has completed work for us on two seperate occasions.  He went above and beyond to assure we understood  what was needed and the cost.  We required some shingles to be replaced - he did the research and purchased them for us then made the necessary repairs.  He also changed some outdoor flood lights (high up) and power washed our gutters.  Everything was done in a timely way and with professionalism.  We will use him on all occasions that require a Handyman. "

Lighting questions, answered by experts

It’s fair to be concerned about handling pool lights or wiring in a pool filled with water. But fortunately, pool lights and swimming pools are designed to make it easy and safe to replace the lights without needing to drain the water. Instead, you can turn off the electricity to the pool as a safety precaution, unscrew the pool fixture, pull it up and out to the side of the pool, then change the bulb.

Pool lights are designed to be safe by protecting swimmers from electrocution. These lights are made with waterproof fixtures and seals to prevent contact with the water.

Electrocution from pool lights is still possible, but rare. Faulty wiring or broken lighting equipment can make lights unsafe, so it’s important to replace lights as needed and have an electrician inspect and upgrade the wiring.

Yes, professional landscape lighting is typically worth the investment. Installing a lighting system can improve your home’s curb appeal, safety, and security, and it can also deter burglars. It adds value to your home by creating a brightly-lit outdoor space you can use after dark and making the property more appealing to potential buyers. According to the National Association of Realtors, landscape lighting can add up to $2,500 to your home’s value, and on average, this type of home improvement has a 50% return on investment.

While wet-rated and damp-rated lighting is designed to handle contact with moisture, there’s a difference between the two. Wet-rated lighting is safety-rated to be placed in areas with direct exposure to water, including your shower. Fixtures classed as wet-rated are made with waterproof seals to protect the filament and other electrical components from water and moisture.

Damp-rated fixtures can be used in places with some moisture contact, but not direct exposure. They don’t have the same waterproof seals used in wet-rated fixtures. Damp-rated lighting can be used on your bathroom ceiling or along a wall outside of your shower.

Simple repairs like replacing bulbs can be DIY projects, but professionals should handle significant electrical repairs to ensure safety and compliance with electrical standards.
