"Had an old double main kitchen sink that was leaking and one side couldn't be used. Chance installed a new sink of our choice so now we can use the entire sink. He fixed the drain line to ensure the leaking stopped and sealed the edges of the sink to the countertop. We continue to be happy with his work after he previously installed a toilet and water heater for us."

"Very nice bathtub, deeper than most tubs, water stays warm because bathtub is insulated. Nice looking wall built to frame bathtub. I am very pleased with the salesman, Stryker, and the company definitely aims to please. They did a great job."

"I bought a water heater. They first connected me with a plumbing company that tried to add on $270 for additional materials and labor costs that they could not justify. I returned the water heater, and they again connected me to Holthaus. Holthaus called later that same afternoon and scheduled for the next morning. Dan came out and installed the water heater and new stand in just an hour. He only charged $30 for additional materials related to new gas fittings. He was very polite, transparent, and thorough. I would highly recommend them."

"In the year 2000 we had a huge downpour, all the streets in Toledo were flooded, mine included. I had about 6 inches of water in my basement. I called Everdry to get my foundation inspected, a very nice gentleman came out to my home, he checked my foundation and gave me an estimate. I decided to have Everdry to waterproof my basement. I am so glad I did. The workers were very professional and did a great job. While others in my neighborhood are still getting water in their basements, mine remains dry. So glad I spent the money."

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

Price variations arise from size, type (tankless or tank), efficiency grades, and installation complexity, including labor and materials.

Typically, only a high-efficiency water heater with an inducer fan can be vented outside the house. Otherwise, your water heater needs to be installed on the inside and vented through the roof. However, certain areas may allow a standard-efficiency water heater to be vented outside. Check your local building codes to be sure.

The size needed for your expansion tank is determined by the size of your home's water heater. Expansion tanks are available in 2-gallon and 4.5-gallon sizes. A 2-gallon tank will be appropriate for water heaters up to 50 gallons. An adequately sized tank should have a volume that equals 2% to 5% of the water volume within the system. A plumber can evaluate your home's water pressure, water heater size, and other factors to provide suggestions for picking out the best expansion tank.

Replacing facilitates energy savings, decreases repair frequency, and aligns with modern safety regulations, maximizing safety.

No, you’ll need to drain the tank before changing a water heater element, as the water heater element sticks through the side of the tank and uses a gasket to prevent water from pouring out. However, you don’t always need to drain it completely. If you’re only replacing the upper heating element, you can drain the tank until the water line is below the element. If you’re replacing the lower element, you’ll need to drain the whole thing.
