"I went with one of their Lifetime Warranty Submersible Pump Packages... the new pump is a beast, Made in the USA, and looks like it will never fail regardless. My previous pump had completely failed, they replaced that, the underground wiring and piping for the pump, water shut off valve, pressure switch, tank, and gauge... other than the piping from the drop pipe to the house, the only piece they re-used was the pitless adapter. Kevin and his apprentice Cade were both very professional, polite, and thorough. The finished product is functioning flawlessly and the visible items look great. At my request, they took their time to do the new pressure tank piping in a way that made sense functionally in the space rather than just a couple straight pieces that would've been much easier/faster for them. I was being annoying, looking over their shoulder, and asking a million questions the entire time because I wanted to understand all of the system for future reference, and they were very happy to oblige and explain everything to me. The whole process took about 3 hours and I'd recommend them to anyone."

"Two showers were installed. Carson and Reiniel did an outstanding job of removal of the two old showers. They removed the old bathtubs, and completely updated the plumbing installing two new bathroom showers. Carson and Reiniel teams were onetime and very professional. I have received wows from the neighbors after seeing the finished product. I am over the moon on the final result ."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

A plumbing pipe is simply a container for water, sewage, or even air in some cases. Like any other type of container, it has an internal empty space, or capacity. That space is the amount of room a plumbing component has to hold liquid. That amount of room is the volume.

A good option for opening up and cleaning a sink drain is to use a ¼ cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar, along with a rubber stopper to cover the drain while those materials work their magic. After about 15 minutes, you can flush the drain with hot water. In many cases, these materials can scrub out minor clogs and get the drain working properly again. If the issue persists, call in a plumber near you to get the problem permanently fixed.

Some older homes have toilets in the basement to combat sewage backups. This type of toilet, also known as a Pittsburgh potty, acted as a safety valve over the incoming sewer line. If a line backed up, it would back up into the toilet because it was the lowest fixture in the home, keeping it out of sight and away from the finished areas of the house.

Basement toilets were also used by workers with messy jobs, like those who worked in coal mines or steel mills. This way, they could clean up and avoid tracking dirt through their home.

The most common places for water leaks in a home are the fixtures we use most often: the kitchen and bathroom sinks, the showerhead, and the toilet. These components all contain moving parts and O-rings that prevent water from flowing through when the fixtures are shut off, and these can wear down over time and lead to minor drips or significant leaks. You can sometimes employ a DIY solution to replace aerators or faucet O-rings that could be causing the leak, but it’s usually best to call in a professional for a permanent fix.

Problems with a damaged handle or valve cartridge can result in a leaking faucet that won’t turn off completely. The faucet may also be rusty or corroded, which can prevent the faucet from turning the water off all the way. A leaky faucet can cause issues beyond the annoying dripping sound. It also wastes water and can be an indication that something else is wrong with the system, so fix a leaky bathtub faucet as soon as possible.
