"The work was done the same day, very professional knowledgeable plumbers. The price seemed on the high side but the water heater and the pan under it were leaking so I needed to have work done quickly."

Small jobs welcome

"Ask for Jacob if you appreciate the guy who goes the extra mile. When he drove to his supplier to purchase a toilet to change out my old and beat-up model, he let me know he would be calling me from there. Glad he did that, b/c we discussed an odd situation that arose: the toilet "kit" contained no seat! Because of the trust he already commanded in our short interaction, I asked him to please purchase something utilitarian and tack it onto the bill. This he did, installed the new one in under an hour, and never charged me for the seat, though I pointed that out to him. He let it be known that that was on the house. Service beyond excellent."

"He did so well. This was a 3 step process and he made sure the floor was anti slip by doing the 3rd process. The epoxy matched and his attention to detail was well worth the $100 more in price. Very pleased."

"Zach was amazing! I called him around 7-8pm and withing 15 minutes he was there to help me. We had some major issues and I told Zach was I was told from previous plumbers and come to find out, the issues I though I had were not what was told to me by others. Zach made sure I understood exactly what the issues were and told me upfront what the cost was. He is an amazing plumber and I will be calling him from now on with my issues. Polite, knowledgeable, and experienced is what Zach is."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Common problems include leaks, clogs, and low water pressure. Regular maintenance prevents major disruptions.

Basement toilets don’t always need a pump. However, it is the most common setup because plumbing systems use gravity to move waste away from the home. Basement toilets often sit below the home’s main sewage system, and installing a sewage ejector pump pushes the wastewater and sewage up to the main sewer line. Alternatively, you can use an upflush or macerator toilet that breaks down the waste and pushes it straight to the main sewer line rather than via a sewer line from the bathroom.

You can tell if your toilet fill valve is full by removing the lid and taking a look. When you flush the toilet, the float is at the bottom of the tank, the water empties, and the fill valve opens. The float rises to the top as the tank fills again with water. When the float rises to the right level, the fill valve closes; if the valve is too high, your toilet may only partially flush, requiring you to adjust the float.

Yes, a toilet, sink, and shower can share the same vent. This is a common installation method that can simplify plumbing and save space. However, there are important considerations. The vent and associated plumbing must be large enough to handle the demands of all fixtures without compromising the vent's effectiveness. Additionally, the toilet should always be located downstream of all other fixtures. Because requirements can vary and space might be limited, it is essential to check your local building and plumbing codes and consult with a qualified plumber to ensure the installation is done correctly.

The water in your toilet tank refills after each flush. So if you see dirty water in the bowl, you should check the tank to see if it’s coming from there. A dirty toilet tank can be the result of sediment in the water itself—-after all, the water will sit in the tank between flushes and can cause the interior to change into a dingy color. Faulty toilet components, like an old flapper, corroded tank lever or chain, or damaged seals, can also lead to dirty water as the materials break down inside the tank. You can clean the toilet tank or change out the old parts to give it a fresh start.
