Residential and commercial heating, plumbing, and air conditioning installation and service. Specalize in floor radiant heating.

"would not recommend using Dunwittie Plumbing again. First they cut the pad under the home without using water, causing concrete dust to enter our home. I talked with Bill at Dunwittie about this and he said they never wet cut when outside, I guess a 4 foot opening in the skirting is outside. Then while digging the hole they hit my home with the excavator bucket ripping off the skirting front and back rail, then they repaired it by running tec screws through the front rail. I had a conversation with Bill about that and he said park maintenance would fix it, I told him I owned the home and the skirting so maintenance had nothing to do with it. I repaired it correctly myself. The repair itself is bad they removed a freeze proof in- ground water hydrant and replaced it with pex pipe with a ball valve and did not insulated the pipe or back fill the hole. I asked Bill if they would be responsible for the line if it froze up because of the above and he said no. Then they didn't replace m"

Heating Oil questions, answered by experts

NATE-certified technicians may charge slightly higher service fees compared to non-certified technicians. This is because NATE certification signifies a higher level of expertise and professionalism, often leading to more efficient and effective HVAC repairs and installations. While the upfront cost may be marginally higher, NATE-certified technicians can potentially save you money in the long run by reducing energy consumption, preventing frequent breakdowns, and extending the life span of your HVAC system. When looking for a local HVAC company to hire, it never hurts to ask about NATE certifications.

There are three main types of heat pumps. An air-source heat pump system is the most common and has two parts—an indoor air handler unit and an outdoor heat pump unit. A ductless heat pump system functions similarly to an air-source heat pump system but doesn’t need ductwork to distribute the air. A geothermal heat pump system pulls heat from the ground to help heat your home.

While it's generally safe to stay in a home with a coolant leak if your home is properly ventilated, it's important to have a professional come out to assess the situation right away. You should evacuate your home if you notice any powerful fumes. Additionally, you should leave your home if you are experiencing headaches or dizziness.

Regular inspections, loop flushing, and checking heat exchangers help extend system lifespan.

If a geothermal heat pump is installed correctly, then you shouldn’t have to worry about having a backup heat source such as a furnace or oil boiler. However, there are geothermal systems installed that include a backup in case the heat pump fails due to extreme cold. This is simply a backup heat pump you’ll likely never need and not an alternative heat source.
