"I can not begin to tell you why you need to hire Wilfredo and A&A Pronto Services. Do your research! Look up A&A. Read their reviews. Look at them on the Better Business Bureau. Check them out on Home Advisor and Thumbtack. Learn from me, never hire anyone just on word of mouth. DO YOUR RESEARCH! A&A, in extremely quick fashion, went from an official quote, to a contract, to job completion in four weeks. I had a garage that needed to be replaced. They built a BEAUTIFUL garage, they built a BEAUTIFUL deck on top of the garage for social events. They were fast, they worked hard, they worked weekends (yes, Sundays too) to get the job done right. Wilfredo stayed in CONSTANT communication with me, multiple times per week. The men were respectful and never got in the way of my home life. They did little extra things along the way to ensure I was happy, adding nice shelving to the garage and changing the door frame, even after the work was started. Find a professional. Find A&A Pronto Services. I might paint the house and I might renovate my kitchen next year, and you can bet that I've saved their phone number and will call them first, from now on, for everything. I had originally contacted someone else for the job in December 2020. I went through hiring a different contractor and I had the nightmare people that you get warned about. Mike and April Vish with Modern Home Renovations (and Executive Pools, and whatever else LLC they are using), took my deposit and ran, after damaging my home. After eleven months of begging them to do the work, of letters from attorneys, I finally bit the bullet, realized that money was stolen and gone, and hired the people I should have in the first place."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Learning how to frame a house includes picking the right lumber for the job. Most people will want to pick pine, spruce, or fir for the framing. These types of lumber are affordable and produce sturdy framing for structures. Look for kiln-dried lumber to reduce the risk of shrinkage or insect damage after installation. As part of what’s included in framing a house when you hire a professional, the contractor should order the lumber, so you don’t have to worry about finding the right lumber.

The average cost of DIY window framing is about $40 to $60 in materials. If you hire a window treatment professional, you’ll pay for materials plus labor costs—anywhere from $250 to $800 per window. The final cost is highly dependent on the window size, as larger windows are heavier and more difficult to install, as well as the type of window framing material.

New builds, remodels, and additions often necessitate professional framing expertise.

Converting a carport into a garage can vary in difficulty depending on its configuration, the condition of the foundation or slab, and its location relative to the house. The process has a lot in common with a home addition, but you can often skip non-essential finishes like fine flooring, trim work, or even drywall and HVAC. The conversion requires experience with drywall, insulation, and other building materials to ensure it’s done safely and correctly. While it might be possible for a DIYer with the proper tools and skills to do the work, it is a complicated and potentially dangerous job. If you’re new to basic construction, it's best to leave this project to the professionals.

Yes, a 2x6 should hold a porch swing and safely support the load. A smaller joist runs the risk of it not offering enough support for the swing. If you have a joist smaller than 2x6, add additional bolstering support.
