He was able to remotely get into my computer to check it out since he is in Arizona and I am in Oklahoma. Normally I would not have allowed this-but thanks to Mikes many tremendous reviews and A Grade I trusted him and do not regret it. In my opinion he deserves an A++! It's been 20 years since I have owned a desktop computer and I'm obviously not tech savvy! Mike did not take advantage of that and was even kind enough to share some info with me free of charge. "Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. "My wife's and my three-year-old home desktop PC shut down without warning while I was using it Saturday evening.  When it restarted automatically it displayed an error code and a message, "Hard drive - no drive detected."  The next morning I first contacted the manufacturer, but their technical support staff informed me that they could not assist me because the system's warranty had expired.  By means of the Web browser on my wife's smart phone I searched Angie's List for computer repairers who offer their services on Sunday, and I found Indy Computer Guru.  I was pleased to note that the business had excellent customer ratings, and I proceeded to call and request assistance.
My wife and I were both delighted with our entire experience.  Dave Follas is knowledgeable, skilled, personable as well as professional, responsive, and he communicates well and consistently.  After determining (at no charge) that our PC's hard disk could not be salvaged and conferring with us, Dave installed a pair of drives designed to improve our system's performance.  He then reinstalled and configured Windows 7, peripheral device drivers, etc. and all of our applications software.  Dave talked with me by phone on Sunday, visited our eastside home on Monday to diagnose the problem and then take the PC back to his shop, called Monday evening to provide a status report, returned the functioning system to us on Tuesday, and then worked to ensure that all of our devices were connected and operating correctly and that we had access to all of our Web accounts, etc.  During our initial conversation I requested an estimated cost for the job, and the amount charged ultimately (which included a 15% labor cost Angie's discount) was very close to the estimate.  Dave gave me good advice regarding several computer matters about which I inquired, and he has kindly responded to follow-up questions that we have posed to him.
I am grateful to Angie's List for enabling me to find this outstanding business, which I would recommend to others without reservation and which I intend to use in the future when my wife's and my computer needs repair.

"Every time he comes, we have 7 computers and he checks and updates everything and fixes everything that others couldn't fix. he configures the whole network in the house to make sure that all our computer are all hooked up and communicating with the network. he is clean, careful, and very professional with his work. We couldn't find anyone as competent as Mr. Caughman. He pricing is honest and reasonable."

"I called Luther on Friday morning while I was at work and set up an appt. for the same day. He came to my place exactly on time. Very punctual. He's also very neat and clean in his appearance and work habits. After signing an agreement on price so everything was clear and showing him my list of problems, he got right to work. Luther checked everything for viruses and then got rid of a lot of things that were making my computer run super slow. Then, after discussion, he uninstalled my antivirus program and installed his preferred program, which was very streamlined and easy to use. I just sits, running, in the background and doesn't interfere with my browsing experience. Luther also, by chance, had some "used" memory that worked with my pc. So he took my (very dusty and dog hairy) unit outside, gave it a good blowout and installed the memory for a very reasonable price. Luther told me my computer still has room for improvement (room available for more memory) but that this should improve things. It did....immensely.  Luther more than gave me my money's worth, I have to say and my computer is running like it should. I try to do a lot of my own troubleshooting on my computer, but after this experience I know I'm a rank amateur.  I'm really happy with my computer for now and I'll definitely be giving him a call in the future when I'm looking for a computer tech.
