Customers say: Super punctual

"They did a great job! Everyone that I contacted with the company during my experience was helpful and polite. They installed a new HVAC (furnace downstairs and a/c outside) and a hot water heater in a 135 year old house which is a challenge, but faced it no problem. When they offered suggestions to make the system run better by adding additional cold air returns, they really worked with me to make sure that I was happy with placement and the finished product.....I mean who wants extra unattractive vents in the floor?? but they really made it look great! They were my lowest bid of 6 others selected from Angie's List/Lowe's and Home Depot and when the work was done it was right on bid not a cent more! I would definitely do business with them again my new systems are running great and the house feels very comfortable now. Thanks guys!! "

"Roy came out and gave me an estimate which I thought was reasonable. He explained what he would do and what he would throw in. I got a new Trane 95% efficiency 100000 BTU furnace and 3 ton a/c unit, a new thermostat, and a small pump to pump the water from the AC and heater to my washer drain. He had to make some changes to the intake duct including making a new spot with a door for the filter, and capped the flue to the chimney since the new furnaces are vented differently. I also got a new 50 gallon water heater. He threw in a 10 year parts and labor warranty on the HVAC system provided I do twice a year maintenance, and threw in the first 2 years of maintenance for free. It was a three day install. The first day they installed the water heater and removed the old water heater and HVAC. He also hauled off an old dishwasher I had replaced over the weekend. The next two days was installing the new HVAC. We decided on a new spot for the outside unit which was better than where the old one was. Better air circulation and more secure. Roy always kept me informed as to what they were doing and how long he expected it to take. Roy and his crew were very courteous and left my basement cleaner and in better shape than when they started. I am very happy with the work he did for me and I'm very satisfied with the new equipment and highly recommend him."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

A new HVAC system can increase your home's value by about 5% to 7%, which can translate to an added value of $2,500 to $3,000. The return on investment (ROI) can be around 30%, especially if you upgrade the entire system, including ductwork and insulation. Adding modern features like a smart thermostat can further increase your home’s value by making the heating and cooling systems more efficient and convenient. However, since a new unit can cost $10,000 or more to install, it's important to weigh the upfront cost against the potential increase in home value. For a specific assessment, it's best to consult a local AC installer.

Your heating and cooling systems cost you the most on your electric bill and make up 50% of your bill on average. Your washing machine, dryer, oven, and stove contribute significantly to your electric bill as well. Lights, fans, and smaller electronics add up, but aren’t the biggest energy consumers. You can reduce your power usage by setting optimal temperatures on your thermostat and investing in energy-efficient appliances.

AC evaporator coils should be cleaned at least once per year to keep your unit in good condition. For optimal performance, consider cleaning them twice a year—once before and once after the main cooling season. More frequent cleanings may be necessary for older systems, units with performance issues, or those in climates with high levels of humidity, dust, and dirt.

Ideally, an AC system should never need more Freon (a popular refrigerant) because it circulates in a closed loop. However, refrigerant leaks are not uncommon and may occur gradually over 5 to 15 years. If your system has a leak, it will need to be topped up in a process known as an AC recharge. Signs of a refrigerant leak include weakened AC performance, increased humidity in your home, higher utility bills, and a hissing sound from the unit. The cost of an AC recharge will depend on the size and type of your AC unit, as well as the type of refrigerant it uses.

Because of the improved efficiency, ACs with higher SEER ratings tend to cool down your home better than models with a lower SEER. Higher-SEER AC units have a higher cooling capacity and a lower energy demand, meaning they may help cool your space faster without running up the electricity bill.
