Ended up not needing to replace thermostat. ARS technician checked A/C system and found no issues. Discovered nest thermostat was installed by utility company, allowing them to shut it down during peak usage. Previous homeowner is to blame.

The initial cost was to be $89 and ended up being $132 for a 15 minute job. With no technical support from manufacturer. Felt like a bait and switch because of the price difference.

The tech seemed very competent however he did not solve my problem. He wanted tom schedule a 2nd appointment and charge a second service call fee which I disagree with. I have been trying for several days to reach a supervisor to resolve the matter but am not having any luck.
