They explained why this large of a replacement was needed versus alternatives, they gave me a breakdown of costs right away, they were very nice and courteous. They even stopped what they were doing and had the utility company come back out when my husband realized that one of the utilities (cable) did not get marked. They waited until the utility was correctly marked and they altered their digging plans to make sure they were doing what was in MY best interest. They contained their digging only to the area they needed to dig in, they were very respectful with their equipment and didn't hurt any other part of my yard and didn't get too close to my house. When they finished they gave me a tour of their work and explained how the new system is functioning. Later that night, when it was brought to his attention, the owner called me back to let me know that during the work he thinks that the pump may have possibly gotten bumped and could be cracked. He told me that he would come right out and replace it with a brand new one and he apologized that he didn't know that happened until later. My respect for him went through the roof - first of all to call and tell me what happened being completely honest and second to immediately rectify the situation. First words that come to my mind about them are: Honest, Respectful, Punctual, Detailed, Thorough Explanations and Quality Work. I would highly recommend this company to anyone within Grundy County, IL limits who needs any kind of septic repair
- VAPOR VIPERDye test showed water to septic tank going to sump for ground seepage in basement. Called Vapor Viper and they ran vid cam thru line and found the break. This narrowed the repair area to a 2 square foot area ( rather than digging 60 ft to expose break - part of which was under concrete) saving many hundreds of dollars in repair. Actual time to find break in line was only 1/2 hour. The bill was a little high but they traveled 60 miles round trip and saved me a bunch so I didn't complain. If the call had been local the charge may have been less. Absolutely worth the money and I would recommend them

We did receive calls from two others and one other estimate for service, but James Backhoe was the lowest cost and fastest to respond to all our questions.When deciding when to have our system replaced, it was recommended that we wait until after a large party we were planning at our home. Good thing, new septic systems are pretty bad on the lawn.The team arrived early, and all three were constantly working like a well oiled machine. They seemed to know exactly what the next step was and worked in coordination with each other. When they found the old pipe leaving the house was made of steel (highly unusual) they made a quick call and had the tools and equipment needed without losing a beat. I was present and asking questions along the way, and was always answered respectfully and fully. They even dug up a grape vine I had been unable to get to before they came.They were very careful to refill the holes with the clay soil going in first and the nice black soil on top so that we can more easily garden and reseed the grass. They left mounds of soil over the dug areas so that as the soil settles we will have a nice even lawn.When spending this kind of money, I want every thing to go perfectly. I honestly feel that it did. I would recommend James Backhoe to anyone

- VAPOR VIPERThe guy traveled almost 40 miles (80 round trip) and arrived right on time. He used a camera, snaked through the sewer line to find the break. Unfortunately the break was under the concrete garage floor. When he was done he marked the floor when the break was at and I did the excavation and repair next day. His mark was right on - less than 6 inches from the break. I thought his price was just a little high, but that might have been in part due to the distance he had to travel. Still well worth it though. Rather than did up half my garage floor to find the break, I only had to remove and repair about 6 sqft. This fellow was courteous, professional and all around nice guy. Response to my call was quick and the whole search took less than 30 minutes from unload equipment to packing up and driving away. Absolutely recommend his services

"The crew of 3 showed up to work at 8 as promised. We over viewed the work we had discussed on his estimate appointment.
<br /> It took them roughly 5 hours from start to finish. Overall they installed supply lines for a bathroom: Sink, Toilet and built the supply for the shower. We had the rough in drains/vents already. They installed supply lines for a wet bar sink and drain/vent just outside the bathroom area.
<br /> He did all of the wet wall work first and got the area ready before shutting off the water. The supply to our house was only off for a total of about 30 minutes.
<br /> He was very courteous answered all of my questions. When he was finished he walked my wife through all the work that they had done as well as took some pictures and sent them to me.
<br /> All copper piping was used and although I haven't been able to test the lines yet (due to construction not being finished) it is not leaking and everything appears in order.
