"Horrible! Prestige pools promised the world when selling us the pool and fell short at every turn. I own a home renovation company so know the game. Signed contract because they promised it would be built before the winter. Mid June after many calls they finally started. They worked a day here....a day there....never letting us know when or why . I made many calls asking when the guys would build because of what was promised and I needed to get more concrete done around the pool once they were done. Secretary every time was like talking to a recording, saying the same bull they tell everyone on why pool wasn’t done. I ended up hiring my own crew to backfill ditch in yard and grade yard that had huge piles of dirt for months left . They left a massive pile of gravel in middle of yard no where close to pool for me to get rid of. My pump pipes leaning so bad I have to re do. Concrete around the pool is undermined all over . Left concrete dust in pool and made us vacuum up. Cracks in concrete, tape , caution tape, and trash left all over the place. No matter how many calls I make they never show to finish. They take half the money on start, almost half half way through, and never show up to finish. They take as many jobs as they can to sell and once they get money you will wait forever to get started and they will put you on the back burner to finish if they even do. Worse experience ever. If I ran my business like prestige I wouldn’t have a business"

No, you should only choose high-quality wood to build your sauna. Not all types of woods can withstand the pressure from heat or moisture. Only use softwoods, such as cedar and aspen, that are known for absorbing heat and resisting water.

Considering the cost of tools, parts, and hiring assisted labor, building your own sauna can cost almost as much as purchasing one. It is less expensive to buy sauna kits, since they are premade and easier to set up. Still, you may need to hire a professional to assist in electric or plumbing installation.

A steam shower goes in place of an existing shower, has an opening at the top, and functions as both a shower and a source of steam (at around 110 F). Because steam is involved, steam showers are classified as wet heat. ( Pro Tip: Never run the steam for more than 20 minutes at a time, as you may start to feel overheated and like you live in a swamp.) For any humidity-haters, saunas are enclosed spaces that can be put anywhere in the house and produce dry heat. That means they use electricity to power the heat rather than water to create steam.

Most people will opt to put their home sauna outside near a pool or on a screened-in porch so the heat doesn’t move into the rest of the house. If your house has enough room, you may choose to put it in a bathroom so you can shower right after.

It will take several hours or more to build a sauna. A prefab kit will take anywhere from three to 20 hours to install, depending on complexity and your skill level.
