"R.R.V. Landscaping is a very professional and superior landscaping company. Their overall customer service and pricing is exceptional from the moment of first contact to completing the job. They completed spring cleanup, mulching, laid down a low brick border wall around our vegetable garden just as we asked, and the end result was beautiful. They also trimmed our bushes and mowed our lawn. Raul was very timely in texting me back whenever I had a question and is easy to work with. We look forward to continuing our business with them in the future, which will include weekly mowing/trimming, all season cleanup and lawn treatments. My husband and I highly recommend this landscaping company."

"I'm very proud and happy for hiring Lorenzo for the installation of my automatic sprinkler both in my back and front yard. I was going to do on my own, but i would have never been able to do the masterpiece that Lorenzo left at my home. Checking at HomeAdvisor for a company to hire, i have to say that Lorenzo called me immediately, on a Friday and out of business hours (and believe me, he is really busy, i saw his appointment book). He adapted to my schedule and came on Saturday morning to give me the quote after seeing my yard, and he started his work before the 4th of July. He always came exactly at the time he told me he would arrive at my home. He was always very professional. In addition to that, he always looked for the best installation, the one that could make more sense and that could be a more professional work, not being worried about a 10$ more or less. Honestly, i like people that feel passion for their job and that care about their customer and that want to leave a good work in your home instead of being worried for 10$ more or less once we have closed a deal, and he realized that another alternative could be better. He cares about the work he does. With no doubt, you can trust Lorenzo. He will explain to you in detail whatever you want to learn, teach you and help you to understand what he is doing, with no problem at all. He is patient and he will listen to your needs too, or solve your questions. In addition to that, he is a VERY hard working guy. I like people like Lorenzo because i feel identified with him, working hard for your money and to leave to your customer a nice work after your effort. Don't hesitate, go for Lorenzo, you won't regret about hiring him. He is a very honest professional and he will commit to what he told you when closing the deal."

"Excellent work as always. Juan and his crew are very good and responsive. They get right to work and don’t mess around. Hard working team of men. My beds look great. He delivered and spread a bunch of mulch. He even aerated the yard and spread grass seed. Totally unexpected. This was out 3rd time using his team. He will now be providing weekly yard services for us. In a few weeks I am having them come back to install some new shrubs, and perennials, I also really like that I can communicate via text and email with Juan. Makes it easier since both our schedules are very busy."

"Oscar came out to my home to look at my landscape and give me a quotation within 30 minutes of signing up on Home Advisor. He gave me a price right up front and he and his employee were out the next day to dethatch the grass, clean up my numerous gardens and to edge all of them. The following day they spread mulch on all gardens everything looks great! They will be back next week to start weekly lawn cuttings. I highly recommend this company."

Lawn Care questions, answered by experts

On average, lawn stripes will last about two weeks. This timeline gives you plenty of elbow room to perfect your skills since your designs will always fade if you’re unhappy with the results. For best results and to keep your grass healthy, change the direction of each stripe every two weeks.

There are several best practices you can do to keep your lawn looking healthy. Knowing when to water grass is among the most important. Having your sprinkler timer set to early morning is best because it gives your grass and plants enough time to absorb water before the sun and wind can evaporate it. To maximize a sprinkler’s impact, aerate your lawn once or twice per year. Doing this achieves better absorption and stronger root systems for your grass.

Mowing at least once a week during the growing season is a good general rule. However, every lawn is different, and factors like frequent rain and fertilizer use can cause grass to grow faster, potentially requiring mowing as often as every four days. When you mow, always follow the 'one-third rule': never cut more than one-third of the grass blade's height at once, as this can weaken it and prevent it from taking in proper nutrients. For most grass types, the ideal height is around 2 to 3 inches, though some warm-weather grasses do better when kept shorter at about 1.5 to 2 inches.

Lawn mower blades should be sharp enough that you can feel the sharpened edge, but not sharp enough to cut you when you touch them. Over-sharpening blades to a fine, razor-edge poses a safety risk and decreases the blade's life because it causes extra wear; the thinner edge is sharper but weaker and will require more frequent sharpening.

The process to winterize your landscaping depends on the plants you have, but generally speaking, you should rake your lawn to avoid leaves from smothering your grass and leading to mold and fungi growth, wrap young trees to protect from fluctuating temperatures, and fertilize your lawn to provide some nutrients for the grass through the colder temperatures. You can also consider marking off small trees and shrubs to avoid accidentally damaging them with snow removal tools.
