Adam answered my numerous questions regarding construction aluminum versus vinyl windows etc. Yancy, the Project Manager came by to check on the construction and let me know when it would be completed. I called to have them come back and adjust the sliders as they were a little tight. Yancy stopped in within the week and check the doors. He said they're new, they should loosen up after some use, but if they don't let me know and I'll come out in the Spring and adjust them. This company has great customer service, great work, and I would use them again. Kudos to this company for answering their phones 98% of the time Is! Love my sunroom

Kucera Construction

The project we partnered with Kucera Construction on was a behemoth. We brought our 100+ yr home up to the modern day while keeping the original charm. Refurbished some rooms and floors, gutted and redid others. Several bathrooms were gutted, re-designed and brand new. The scope of this job was enormous. Peter and team could not have been better to work with and the quality of work is impeccable. Simply stated, when we were ready to refinish the outside of the home, there was no question on who we'd hire

I hired Envy to construct a brand new, roughly 180 square foot four-season sunroom. After receiving an estimate from a different contractor, we decided on Envy after meeting with Adam for a free examination of our area and estimate provided on the spot. The multiple construction options and materials promised all appeared high-end. Sunroom options were plentiful in all of his available photos. I work from home and could see Envy's workers from start to finish (while trying not to bother them and let them work). From digging the foundation and pouring concrete, to laying beams, to installing high-end quality vinyl screens and windows, to building the new roof into my existing home roof, to the final step of installing a PTAC HVAC system, Envy's work met or exceeded all expectations. The project was completed just a few weeks later than we originally discussed but with the large amounts of rain we had in the spring, it was understandable that there were delays. Adam and project manager Yancy were great with communications and total pros every step of the way. There were cheaper options out there, but I honestly don't know how any other company or contractor could have done a better job. I hope to never move again and am so happy I have such a quality sunroom to spend the majority of my home time in. Bottom line: My sunroom looks absolutely magnificent and my wife and I could not be happier. I'm bursting with excitement to just sit in it looking at the trees in my yard, or watch the snow fall this winter

Envy Home Services did an outstanding job building our sunroom for our family. Our installers, Luis and Horatio, built everything with a high degree of craftsmanship. Everything has a nice solid feel to it and feels like it will last for many years. Yancy, our project manager, worked with us to make sure any questions or requests we had were addressed to our satisfaction. We’re excited to have a nice new space for our family to spend time

Chi Renovation & Design

This was our second time working with ChiRenovation. A few years ago, they helped with finishing our basement and we were so happy with the results that when we were ready to give our scary porch a face lift into a proper three season room, we got in touch. Ron was our project manager both times and was so patient with two people who wanted lots of options and had a lot of opinions about what would and wouldn’t work. Having someone who can quickly bring in experts when needed, is able to put together estimates, narrow down options and tackle scheduling and coordinating crews takes so much stress out of large-scale renovation projects. For updating the porch, we asked for help with the “heavy lifting” – additional supports, reframing the interior, window replacement, electrical, drywall and interior door and window trims. While we handled the finishing touches (painting, flooring, door installation, siding) once everything was wrapped up and could not be happier with the results. The crews we worked with were a delight. Punctual, very respectful of my working from home (right next to the construction zone to boot), and careful to make sure our dogs didn’t accidentally get out of the yard. In addition to that they were always careful to leave our space tidy and safe when wrapping up work. We are hopefully done with major renovations for a few years but wouldn’t hesitate to work with this group again

Company and installers were very professional Time to preform work was a bit longer than estimated but weather played a significant role. Would definitely use this company again.

It went well, beside the fact it took longer then expected due to the world we now live in. Adam was very informative and responded immediately when any questions or concerns arrived. Our installer worked independently and did an amazing job.

A P Builder & General Contractor LLC

Angelo Pecoraro, the owner of A.P. Builder, was a pleasure to work with from start to finish on our major remodeling project of adding a sunroom to our home. Out of many contractors I called to get an estimate, he was the only one willing to provide options to have the project fit our budget. Once we agreed to move forward, he worked diligently with the architect and village to get the permits finalized (which is a difficult task in my town). Once the work started, he provided almost daily updates of the work that will be completed and any anticipated inspections (which we passed easily). He also reached out himself to finalize details from big items like windows to small ones like the molding. The result was a beautiful sunroom and deck which I receive compliments on regularly. Do yourself a favor and for your next major home remodel/renovation work with Angelo and A.P. Builder

DAL Builders
5.0
This was the second time we hired DAL Builders. They rebuilt our porch previously and we were very pleased with the quality of work and final product. We took our time hiring DAL for this job because we wanted to find out if we could do better on price. Their initial estimate was a good bit higher than we expected. We decided that for the quality of work DAL does, their reliability, and the fact that we could trust them with our old 1908 house, they were right for the job. The lower bids we got had big gaps when we itemized them in Excel. DAL's estimate was the most complete and specific, and we were able to bring it down a bit too. We didn't bother to seek higher/comparable bids because DAL had the other things we cared about – quality, responsible contractor, etc. Tim Larkin is great to work with. Communication is important in a project like this, and Tim keeps on top of it. But communication also had to come from us. The project went smoothly for the most part. When there were problems, we found we were able to work through them. It was also important to communicate directly with Ron and Wes, who are excellent carpenters, and were open to our questions and ideas. Tim alerted us to problems found in the house (plumbing, office wall/ceiling) once the work began and proposed solutions that made sense. We were glad to get those problems addressed and to have Tim manage it. I found myself thoroughly appreciating having someone manage the project from beginning to end. We were inclined to select finishes (cabinets, counters, backsplash) through vendors we found on our own. Tim was open to working with them, but in the case of the cabinets & counters, the vendor was not friendly to general contractors (sells wholesale to the public), which was an additional stress on us, though Tim handled it just fine. Everything turned out okay in the end, partly because Tim's contacts with vendors enabled us to quickly find a countertop alternative when the vendor I selected couldn't deliver on schedule after promising otherwise. The kitchen (160 square feet) took about 2 months to complete, but would have gone faster without the countertop glitch. The cabinets were also more complicated to install than expected (vendor I selected was not helpful with this). Tim kept the work moving, bringing in/coordinating the plumbers, dry wallers, electrician, and HVAC outfit. The work on the kitchen involved demoing plaster walls/ceiling and framing, tearing out the floor, insulating walls/ceiling, moving gas line, removing and replacing a heating radiator (water), all new electrical, lighting, and plumbing in the kitchen, installing outside vent for range, new frames for 4 doorways and one large windows, framing a window that had been behind panel walls, installing new floor and cabinets, new appliances except refrigerator, backsplash. We did the painting. Of the $75,000, about $22,000 was for finishes (cabinets, countertops, floor, backsplash, radiator, gas range, dishwasher, microwave), including costs for DAL to manage all orders and installation; $9,500 was for the small office (80 square feet) next to the kitchen where, in addition to new walls, ceiling, insulation, and trim work, additional framing needed to be done to shore up the wall/ceiling; and $2000 was additional plumbing work in the basement to replace old galvanized steel pipes with copper. The kitchen finishes were about $7,500 higher than estimated for various reasons. The kitchen construction costs were about $41,500. Tim was attentive to budget issues and gave us some slack on pricing for additional work where he could, which we appreciated. We also had our own out-of-pocket costs for items we purchased directly, which I didn't track. Having now been through a gut kitchen rehab, which is disruptive and nerve wracking, I also appreciate that Tim was supportive and positive throughout the experience. We needed the moral support. We are happy with our new kitchen and office and we know we made the right decision when we hired DAL Builders

"Archadeck representatives made our home project go very smoothly from start to finish. After an initial and unavoidable startup delay, Archadeck honored every commitment they made to get the project completed. Installers and materials arrived when expected, work progressed faster than expected, outside areas cleaned up after every day's work, and we were sent an email every evening updating us on what was completed that day and what would be happening the next day. Excellent workmanship by a good group of professionals. We are happy with the finished product!

"We are extremely pleased with the result. Envy Homes were efficient and did quality work all around. They helped with key design decisions and were responsive with some special requests as well (radiant heat, patio work outside of sunroom). Supply chain issues delayed the overall timeline, but project manager was responsive to questions/updates.

"When we were looking for a contractor, Chris offered to show us the work he had done at his own house, which was very impressive. He then proposed the job, and the price was almost 25% less than another contractor had quoted. We had Chris remodel our kitchen, including opening the walls adding an island, removing the soffit and matching the hardwood floor to the entire first floor. We had the living and dining rooms painted, new trim, marble on entrance way removed, even painting the valances on the large windows to match the theme. We are completely satisfied with the work, his flexibility and the price. He even followed up adjusting the cabinet doors afterwards and adding an outlet we wanted and a motion sensor, no labor charge! We couldn't be happier with the whole project.

"Tom was extremely detail oriented from the start. He came and took measurements when we discussed the project, then put together detailed specifications to drive his quote. He took great care to ensure he made efficient use of materials. He also came to make a lattice template for the desk because this is an older house with all the quirks that come with age, and he wanted to ensure it properly hugged the wall. The final output was exactly what we wanted and installed perfectly. You can tell he has many years of experience per the quality of the finished product. He even gave me an extra piece of baseboard he had leftover from another project to help me with another small project in my house. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

"We are very pleased with the result of our remodel. We wanted a complete gut/renovation and this was our first major renovation, so we were of course concerned about cost and time--and not knowing really what questions to ask. DesignFirst was a great partner through the project. Their designers came up with a thoughtful design, but were also happy to tweak things that we wanted to change. Their customer portal was modern and allowed us to review all the choices we had made, payment milestones and records, etc. They also have a nice showroom and a good selection of styles and materials for things like cabinet styles/hardware and stone materials. For some small items like cabinet handles/pulls, we were able to find exactly what we wanted through a third-party and it was no problem at all for us to buy there and have them install it. It was nice to find a company that was ok with us buying some items and not forcing us to use all of their vendors. The project manager was always very responsive to any questions as the project went on. We were a bit unlucky in our timing as the Covid lockdown hit our project right in the middle. But the GC and contractors were always respectful and had masks when on the property. And somewhat surprisingly our timeline was not really impacted because of the lockdown, though it was obvious that the company and contractors were having to jump through extra hoops to get things done on time. One thing that was key to our project was the relationship that the company and its lead contractors seemed to have with the city inspectors. Their contractors were obviously known for working to code and making any changes the inspectors asked for correctly. Our inspections went smoothly, and this is one of those areas where "you get what you pay for". I think we paid a fair price and got great work in return.
