"Jimâ  s crew was diligent in preparing the home for paint; scraping old pain, caulking of windows and between boards, and repairing or sanding of rotted wood to get to solid wood. Jim did a great job in matching previous paint and the material utilized will last through many hot Summers and cold winters. The paint application with paint sprayers and brushes was executed very well. Jimâ  s got a great crew and worked to get the project completed on time. Jim was available through the entire project and weâ  re happy with the project. Iâ  m sure weâ  ll use Jim and Next Level again and please reach out if you need any help on making a decision on Jimâ  s team"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Of all the fencing options, the cheapest type is a repurposed pallet fence because it’s made of used materials that are easy to find for free. But if you’re not interested in the DIY game, customize a covered chain link fence or a plain wood fence to provide the best privacy possible.

The most common type of metal fence today is one made of either steel or aluminum. These materials are relatively easy to fabricate, making them much more cost-effective than traditional metal fencing handmade from wrought iron. They’re also much lighter and easier to install, contributing to their affordability and making them more DIY-friendly.

When it comes to materials, wire fences are the cheapest option. The average cost for a 150-foot wire fence is $1,350. The next cheapest material is chain-link, followed by wood.

As far as the style of fence, smaller, less private fences are cheaper than large, elaborate fences that block your whole yard. That’s why split-rail fences are the cheapest option for wooden fences. They cost roughly $10 to $30 per linear foot.

Aluminum is among the longest-lasting fencing materials, with a lifespan of 30 to 50 years or more. One of the reasons it lasts so long is because aluminum is highly resistant to rust and corrosion. You can help prolong its lifespan by keeping it free of vegetation and cleaning it every few months with a hose and mild soap.

A silt fence should be buried in a trench that is 6 to 12 inches deep. A depth of at least 6 to 8 inches is necessary to prevent water and sediment from running underneath the fence. A deeper trench, up to 12 inches, provides better anchoring during wet and windy weather. To ensure proper installation, look for a red line on the silt fence fabric, which often indicates the correct burial depth. Always adhere to local guidelines and regulations; a professional contractor will be familiar with these requirements.
