"We called Mike Lavery at Excel Window tinting, after reviewing providers on Angie's list. Mike promptly returned our call and scheduled an appointment at our convenience. During the appointment, Mike removed the tinting from one pane, so we could compare the color and degree of tinting among the various options available. Mike explained the cost versus performance versus appearance of the various films, and we narrowed the choices to three during his visit. Mike left samples and literature behind, so my wife and I could continue to evaluate them under different daylight conditions. Within a couple of days Mike provided a clearly written detailed quote, and we selected the film, and scheduled installation time and date. Mike and his assistant arrived right on time, and over the course of six hours installed tinting on 18 separate windows, some of which required a ladder to access. They thoroughly removed all the old film first, and did a great job of cleaning up all the little chips of old film (which have a tendency to stick to whatever they land on). Mike and his assistant worked quietly and efficiently, and did a great job on the installation. We even added a storm door window to the installation while Mike was here, after he explained the pros and cons of tinting this type of window. Timely, efficient, informative, quality installation, clean and quiet. And Mike really took the time to explain options and to make sure we selected a film we would be happy with - color, opacity, durability. We are very pleased with the work Excel Window tinting performed."

"The previous owner I bought the house from concealed the rotten windows and the home inspector my realtor recommended did not mention that the windows need to be replaced. 5 years later, water started to come into the house and I learned that not only I need windows, but my house susteined significant damage. I looked for a local company willing not only to replace the windows, but to fix the potential damage as much as possible. Not a same day or 2 days replacement company that will slap the new window in the rotten frame but someone willing to replace a rotten stud or seal. And I found Travis that made me an excellent impresaion- honest, knowledgeable and surprisingly, not pushy. After an initial quote I let it sit for about 2 weeks until I decided and except an email asking me if I have more questions...which I had -about 10 of them lol, he let me decide. In 4 weeks his team was already on site. Now his guys are the best. I had Adam and Rafal installing my windows and oh, my , when they opened the walls I was looking in disbelief at the rotten wood. They were able to replace all that rotten wood including wood studs, top and bottom seal, joists, etc and make the window casing look like new. Most companies either walk away or cover the rot but these guys were absolutely amazing. Every detail was adressed and every concern was answered. And I was not an easy customer because I was over concerned and watched everything they did, asking a bunch of questions. Yeah, that kind of a customer. What can I say. "This pair of true craftsmen worked magic on my old but serviceable 28-year-old wood windows. Two casement & two large fixed windows suffered substantial cosmetic rot in sash, sill &/or brick-mold. Windows were removed & completely rebuilt. The skill displayed in fashioning the intricate re-framing of the windows from 4â x4â stock using a table saw amazed me. They did additional exterior work, replacing rotted wood trim around the garage & chimney areas. All work was caulked, & repainted. Half dozen other contractors shied away from any cosmetic repair, each suggesting full window replacement. Work was done very reasonably compared to replacement cost, they look brand new. I thank God they came to DeKalb for us & saved our beautiful windows. Prayers answered, they have our highest recommendation."
