"Randy Sauer Electric deserves more than 5 stars. I was in a tight spot time frame wise. Insurance company gave me a 3 week notice to update my electrical box. Or my policy was going to be canceled. This all went down two weeks before christmas. Randy and his guys took care of us right before christmas and got us squared up with a new electrical box. We have a few other items that need to be addressed and we will be coming back to have those details fixed. Thank you so much Randy for the quick and high quality work!"

"Hired them for some electric work done in my main bathroom. There was a little hiccup with the bathroom exhaust and its Bluetooth functionality. I called the manufacturer I ended up ordering another one. It costed an extra $89 for the team to come back and have it troubleshooted. The first time around the Bluetooth portion wasn?t connected properly and supposedly the brand new exhaust had some issues. They also left the ceiling dirty, which I had to scrub and clean. Also, I let them borrow some tools that I had to call them back to retrieve. They are overall hard working and personable people, but in my opinion the quality of work and communication could be better. I should have trusted and verified their work and not just assume everything is functioning as it should be before having them leave the first time."

"The entire project went very well. Oval Royce was our Project Manager and he did a wonderful job communicating and staying on top of the entire project. There were a few changes and additions and Oval made sure they were handled appropriately and the charges for the extra items were very fair and reasonable."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

There are many types of ceiling fans available, each designed for different spaces and needs. Standard ceiling fans are the most common type and work well in most rooms. Low-profile ceiling fans are better suited for rooms with low ceilings. Smart ceiling fans can be controlled with a smartphone or voice commands. For larger spaces with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, large ceiling fans are ideal. Dual-motor fans have two motors to produce more airflow in multiple directions. You can also find energy-efficient or Energy-Star models that can be up to 60% more efficient, as well as fans with built-in lights or retractable blades.

Ceiling fans are very often worth the investment because they improve comfort in your living space and help reduce utility bills. In the late spring and early fall—and even in the summer in some areas—homeowners with ceiling fans can often get away with open windows and fans, which can cut down on cooling bills and also reduce wear and tear on the HVAC system. Over time, ceiling fans can pay for themselves by saving you money on electric bills and air conditioner repair and maintenance.

To convert a ceiling fan to wireless, you’ll need to install a canopy module to access the lighting and fan controls. Many options are available, all of which help you control specific elements of your ceiling fan, so you have plenty of choices depending on your needs.

Yes, you can install a ceiling fan where a standard light fixture is, as the electrical wiring is often similar and may not need to be replaced. The most important step is to ensure the ceiling can support the fan's weight and motion. You will need to replace the existing light fixture's electrical box with a fan-rated electrical box, which is specifically designed to handle the extra weight and vibration. These boxes will be labeled as suitable for ceiling fan support and will indicate the maximum weight they can hold. Before you begin, also consider if you need an extension rod for a high ceiling or a special mount for an angled ceiling.

There are many types of ceiling fans, from self-automated smart ceiling fans to outdoor ceiling fans that provide additional comfort to your patio. What you choose all comes down to function and personal taste.

Consider your ceiling height when selecting a ceiling fan. Rooms with ceilings under eight feet high will do well with low-profile ceiling fans, also known as flush-mount or hugger ceiling fans. If your home has cathedral ceilings or ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, you’ll need a large ceiling fan with a heavy-duty motor to get adequate air circulation.
