Cassidy Construction

Dan replaced 20 windows in our home. We were amazed that they made a huge difference in the sound and transfer of temperature in our home. Dan (and his son) were professional, efficient, and worked with a minimum of disruption to the rest of the house! We were very pleased with the finished job, and we highly recommend Dan’s work.

We decided to hold off on our project but will plan to use Cassidy when we go forward with the project.

A leak in a refrigerator hose led to a warped/destroyed wood floor. Cassidy came in, removed the bad wood, installed a new water barrier and replaced the wood floor, working it in to the rest of the kitchen floor.

This operation went extremely smoothly with everything according to instructions and contract. The job started promptly and ended with a complete clean up. Dan Cassidy will fabricate, or have fabricated, wood components that "handy men" will not touch. He has a complete wood shop and does not hesitate to use it if required. I also am a woodworker and very critical of what others produce, but as a professor of computer science, I do not have time or the additional labor to do what I require Dan Cassidy to do and Cassidy Construction does it very well. Dan Cassidy has done other major remodeling projects for us including a loft library with a spiral stair case that we are very pleased and proud of. I suspect Mr. Cassidy is too because he was able to work from my sketches and verbal instructions while I adapted that major project along with his suggestions. There are few craftsmen that can use and discuss abstract ideas ahead of a drawing. I appreciate this quality. I would not hesitate to use Cassidy Construction again. Our association in projects goes back perhaps 20 years.

First, he carefully measured the openings for the doors and windows and assisted us to decide what materials and decorative features we wanted on each item. Both the manufacturer of the doors and the manufacturer of the windows take custom orders through the contractor. They then build them to specifications in their companies and notify the contractor when the items are ready for delivery. The windows were ready within a week, and then Cassidy and assistant began the process of removing the old windows. Cassidy had to adapt the new windows to the former opening by using expert fitting and wood trim as necessary to anchor the new windows in place. Following the placement of the windows, at our request, he then stained the new window frames and placed two coats of varnish over the stain. Within the week the doors were delivered and received by Cassidy at our house and stored in our garage until the old doors were removed. Both front doors had outdated threshold construction so that Cassidy had to adapt the new doors and thresholds to the house - in one door filling in spaces where the threshold had been with special wood blocks and in the other door pouring cement to restore the threshold to proper height. He did this with excellence. One front door had a sidelight panel, and Cassidy had to adapt the new door and panel into the old space. In the process of tearing out the old window and door, it was learned that the doorbell electrical source ran through the window frame so that Cassidy had to reroute it and replace the old door bell with a new one. A new panel had to be built between the front window and the front door on which the door bell rested and an old electrical outlet removed. Cassidy cut a new place for the electrical outlet in the front wall of the house under the window, making a much more efficient location for it. Like with the windows, Cassidy had to apply stain to the doors and frames and then two coats of varnish. He sanded a new threshold wood piece as well. Dan Cassidy has a special knack for remodeling and an expertise in all kinds of construction work and a high degree of integrity in his work. He completes what he says he will do. We highly recommend him to others.

We liked that Dan Cassidy obtained the permits from the County for the garage and handled all the subcontracting for equipment and extra personnel. We liked that he asked us to choose the external lighting for the garage as well as preferences for electrical outlets and placement of them within the garage. In addition, he had us choose colors on the exterior of the garage.He and his crew completed the work in timely fashion with excellent workmanship. He also provided extra site grading services elsewhere on the property. We also like that he used excellent quality materials in all the parts of the garage and did not taking any shortcuts with materials or craftsmanship.

We have used Cassidy Construction for many remodeling projects requiring expertise in the electrical, plumbing, tile, and carpentry fields. Cassidy Construction and its President Dan Cassidy have provided quality service with unquestioned integrity. Dan brings a wealth of knowledge about current materials, techniques, and code requirements to a project. His knowledge and ability allow him to provide options in design and product application in consultation with the client. We also appreciated Dan’s thoroughness and willingness to correct original construction errors discovered during remodeling. I am very happy with the work that was done. Overall the quality was excellent. They were on time and always did what they said they were going to do. The job site was always cleaned up at the end of the day. They were sensitive to our requests to make changes as well as our needs to maintain a customer traffic flow. They finished ahead of schedule and on budget. I would definitely recommend them and would use them in the future. Cassidy also acted as the general contractor managing all aspects of the job including all subcontracted work. They made my life much easier during construction.

Before I met Dan Cassidy, I was afraid of EVER hiring a contractor again. My family had been badly burned by a contractor at our Wisconsin home. Had to spend the next year hiring replacement contractors and handymen after a "3 week remodel" turned into a 3 year nightmare. This guy literally walked off the job and would not return our phone calls! was pleasantly surprised after meeting Dan. In addition to being a really a nice guy, he is extremely knowledgeable about lots of related things, including landscaping, tree trimming, etc. Additionally, he tries to work within a client's budget wherever possible. Dan is very neat, and always returns calls promptly. I am a pretty experienced remodellor. I wholeheartedly recommend you hire Dan Cassidy for your next project.

I have 1/2 bath that needs to be remodeled. He came out to give an estimate. I hadn't received the estimate in two weeks so I called. He apologized and he said that he would get the estimate to me, but I never heard from him again. He was on time, knowledgeable, and personable, but it seemed he didn't want to do the job.

Dan was extremely knowledgeable about every aspect. He and his crew were very professional and I felt comfortable with all of them being in my home, even when I wasn't there. They were great and flexible when I changed my mind on parts of the project.
