"We used Integrity Windows and Siding back in 2012 to replace our siding and half of our windows (one of the windows did break shortly after installation - it was quickly replaced at no cost, no questions asked). Fast forward to 2023, we again sought out Integrity and Howard to install some of the remaining windows. Howard is very knowledgeable, easy to work with, explains options, kept us informed during the process and sells a quality window at a fair price. Mike, who has been with Integrity for 20+ years, was very careful during the installation - clearly he knows what he is doing! The windows look great, work great and keep us warmer. Similar to other types of wood siding consisting of natural materials, cedar siding should last 20 to 40 years. Beneath the foam board, you should have some kind of waterproof sheathing to further protect your home from water damage. It’s possible this sheathing is already under your current siding.

You should consider acclimating the wood for your shou sugi ban siding for around two weeks before installation to balance its moisture content and prevent warping. That additional step will ensure your materials are prepped for installation, avoiding complex repairs down the line. Consult your siding contractor for additional installation instructions for this specialized material.

Concrete log siding offers some cost savings when compared to wood logs. Real wood logs require ongoing maintenance that can total up to $750 annually, while concrete log siding doesn’t require annual maintenance.
