"He was on time and quickly determined it would take 2 people to complete the job (raising cabinets up by about 1/2 to 3/4 inch so the new refrigerator would slide in the spot). That was accomplished & then he noticed that the space was so tight at the counter top level, that the side of the counter top would have to be planed for more space. It turned out to be a little complicated but turned out well!"

"I needed so much work done on my home since it was built in the 1920's. He has provided me with a fully renovated kitchen & built extra cabinets & counter space for me. He has also completed a beautiful walk in closet with shelving & lots of spaces for my shoes, Additionally, he had replaced the old windows with energy efficient ones, built me a 2 .5 car garage with a bricked patio & pergola as well as a back patio leading up to the house & soffit work. There is no job too small or large for Gary. Gary himself is a perfectionist, cleans up thoroughly after each day & is very responsible & dependable. In fact, others in my neighborhood have see his work & sought him out as well. I have never had a bad experience with him & his workmanship is beautiful. Very reputable man."

Pre Made Cabinets questions, answered by experts

Since melamine is a type of laminate, both types of cabinets are similar in features and benefits, but they also differ in some ways. Melamine is generally more affordable than laminate, while also being resistant to scratches, stains, and heat. However, melamine cabinets are also heavier and may easily splinter during installation. All in all, the choice between melamine and laminate cabinets will depend on your specific needs.

Typically, a medicine cabinet should be installed about 60 to 72 inches above the floor. This height ensures that it's easily accessible for most individuals while allowing for proper visibility and convenience. However, the ideal height may vary based on individual preferences and the average eye level of the users in your household.

While a three-inch center-to-center handle is common, there’s no guarantee that sizing will be the same for every cabinet. Different types of handles have different sized holes to attach them and there are lots of different cabinet handle widths and styles. You should measure to be sure you know the size of a handle and to avoid surprises.

Frameless cabinets fit the space-saving, minimalist attributes of European-style kitchens more than face frame models. That also makes them a good pick for apartments and dorms, as well as any more modern-style kitchen.

It is typically cheaper to buy stock or semi-custom cabinets than to build custom ones. The price difference is significant:

  • Custom Cabinets: Cost between $500 and $1,200 per linear foot. This price is affected by materials, size, design complexity, and door styles. For instance, a simple slab door's materials might cost $60-$70, while a decorative mullioned glass door could be $100-$200.

  • Semi-Custom Cabinets: Cost between $150 and $700 per linear foot.

  • Stock Cabinets: Cost between $100 and $400 per linear foot.

While buying pre-built cabinets is more cost-effective, building custom cabinets allows for full modification to fit unique spaces, such as rooms with high ceilings or unusual layouts, which stock options cannot accommodate.
