"In drilling holes in our laundry room floor they drilled two holes in a hot water pipe. The repair work and expense related to this was greater than the cost of their work. No verbal or written mention was ever made about identifying the location of water pipes. I assumed (mistakenly) that they were professional enough to either ask me to have this done or be able to do it themselves. Their response to my complaint was to send me a copy of my contract reminding me that they are not responsible for "cosmetic" damage and that complaints must be settled through arbitration. "

"I was very unsatisfied with the work that was done on my porch and driveway. The work was very unprofessional and very expensive. They cracked my driveway and raised it more in the middle so now you can see daylight on either side when the garage door is closed. The caulking on the porch looks really bad"

"The original project manager was good. He installed the roof, had a few hiccups, but I was satisfied until 1 1/2 years later when I got 4 leaks. Additionally, some aluminium was supposed to be installed and it still hasn't been installed. I have been calling since March 2019 and still no one has come out to fix the leaks. I only have a couple of months left until warranty expires which I'm figuring they are waiting for. I've called & asked the owner Matt to call me, b ut 5 days later and still no call. A roofer is only as good as his repairs. My advise is don't use Cat. They have no one within 50 miles to repair my roof. I'm very disappointed as I first thought they had done a good job. I had seen reviews where the owner was very responsive, but not to me."

Spent over $11,000 in 2020 to have interior drain tile and a landing drain connected to a new sump pump Had water enter through the doorway by the drain 3 times since 2020, with the most water coming inside September of 2022 Called Safeguard in September 2022. Safeguard refused to even check the system, sent us a quote for $1,800 more work to “fix us up” without even checking anything on our property Had a 3rd party company out to inspect the drain that Safeguard refused to check. Discovered they breached our contract and connected the drain to village stormwater tiling without our consent or the consent of the village. Have never received as much as an apology. Instead, Safeguard blamed us saying the drain was clogged with leaves, and that is why we flooded. This was disproved by Roto-Rooter. Update as of 3/3/2023 AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! There will be NO WARRANTY of this free work. So, if the concrete starts breaking a few months after the fix, they’re not liable. They claim they did not connect the drain incorrectly, and they are doing this fix to appease us (even though I have my contact that clearly states what was to be done, and a signed letter from the president stating that they did in fact do something else). As a result, we asked for a simple 1 year work and materials warranty just to ease our fears about something breaking in the future. Their response- WE WILL NOT ALTER THIS CONTRACT. Bob, John and Karen have been nothing but awful to work with. They are argumentative at best. The amount of times sarcasm and ALL CAPS have been used in emails by Karen, as well as the amount of times my husband has been screamed at over the phone or in person by Bob and John are immeasurable. As soon as you write them a check and they finish the work, they’re done. Even if they blatantly breach your contract (like with us), or the work is faulty, I believe they will not fix or stand by anything. They claim they have one of the strongest warranties in the business- I assure you this is a lie. If they do work and it never breaks, consider yourself lucky, because if something goes wrong they will not help you in any way shape or form to solve the problem, in my opinion. Instead, they will blame you as the customer and ignore you until you become too loud to ignore. Do yourself a favor, spend a little bit more money and go somewhere else that actually backs up their work and treats their consumers well. This is not that place. RUN AWAY. "Lloyd and James (who did the work) are amazing! We had a pipe burst resulting in having to shut off our water. We called around to see if we could get a plumber or general contractor out to fix it but they were only interested if it was going to be a complete remodel/rehab. One even hung up on me in mid sentence. Lloyd took my call and displayed not only compassion for our situation but a sense of urgency. He explained his basic pricing up front and told us that he would try to get someone out to us in the next hour or so. In less than an hour or so James appeared and introduced himself. After showing him the area of the damage and explaining what happened he was not only able to hone in on where the problem pipe was in the wall, but also why it happened. He gave me different options on how he could handle the pipe repair and why each had its merits. He quickly repaired the burst pipe and got us water pretty quick. Professional, courteous, and capable of explaining trades talk to a novice. I highly recommend this company and I will definitely call on them in the future. Great service, reasonable pricing, and honest work."
