Professional, prompt, finished quicker than we thought he would. The owner was out of town so his partner did the whole job himself (we think) and he is very talented!

He provided a quick and painless estimate; didn't try to sell me anything more than what I was asking for. Price was exactly where I thought and wanted it to be. The job took three painters three days to scrape, paint two coats and clean up. The window sashes were all showing signs of water damage (condensation and failed weather stripping); the door was also peeling and a horrible shade of pink...yes pink. He helped pick the shade of white for the windows and also helped pick out the color of the front door. We (us not them) ended up picking out a shade of red/orange for the front door that was too vibrant/bright and he offered to come back after the weekend to put another couple of coats on using a toned-down shade. He didn't ask for a change of scope even after I offered. Madisen Paint came highly recommended by Angie's list and I am very happy with their work. They did a good job painting, the price was very reasonable and they accommodated us. We will definitely consider using them to paint the vaulted living room and foyer.

Mike and crew did excellent work.  They were on time every day.  They covered all our things and painted walls, ceilings, and trim throughout the house. When they were done the put everything back in it's place and cleaned up.  The quality of the work was terrific.  I would not hesitate to use Madisen Paint Co again and recommend them to anyone needing painting done.

Mike's price was far better than other bids for exterior. He and his crew were punctual, fast and professional. He also gave some good advice with color selection. Exterior came out great. Interior work was also really good. Only issue was we needed some contract work done along with the painting (some siding replaced, windows framed) and the contractor he put us in touch with was extremely unreliable. So... highly reccommended painter, but if you need supplementary contracting you may want to do your own search.

I can't say enough about how great Mike was.  He was so easy to work with, and I was able to trust him completely during the day while I went to work.  He cleaned up well each day, paid attention to detail, and the paint looks great.  Plus, he went above and beyond one day when my dog got out of the fence and spent over an hour trying to catch her -- he finally did.  Through all that, he kept me informed by text and even sent a picture when she came home.
Definitely recommend Mike.  Wish I had more painting that needed to be done!

I called Madison and Mike was just returning from vacation. He came out that day and started the next day as he had a job postponed in there schedule. Mike and another painter were the ones to do the work and they were extremely professional.  Took 3 days to complete the job. They arrived when they said they would and cleaned up like they were not even there after each day of work. My wife and I could not be happier.

That is saying something as we have been known to have high expectations of performance. Mike and his partner exceeded our expectations. Will definitely be using him again. Already have booked him for a couple other projects once weather breaks.  Billing will not change from quote unless you make changes after the fact, but he is very fair about any changes that need to be done.  In an effort to make every thing was right he needed to replace some drywall. He brought to our attention and was extremely fair about the additional cost. Use with confidence.

The crew showed up early to pressure wash (when weather conditions prevented them painting on another job).  There was either a miscommunication or botched scheduling, and they did not show up on the first day i expected them.  The following day they did, however, and scheduled what they did to be done and out of the way in the front when I was having a new driveway poured.    All told, it took them about a week and they did a very good job.  After they finished, Mike met me at the house the following week to review the work, see that I was satisfied, and touch up any missed spots.  I found them to be professional and concerned to provide quality service, and I would hire them again.

Dissapointed and dissatisfied with Madisen Paint Company. Not the genuinely professional company that was first portrayed. The first day of project (partial power washed home) the company was provided with an agreed upon down payment and was given paint chips which had color names and numbers on them. Several weeks went by before he could do anymore work because of Indiana's wet spring. However, there was little to no communication either which prompted a discussion on the importance of continued professional communication. Numerous texts, voice mails and emails were sent before hearing from him. He finally started painting at the end of April.
On May 7th, I  received a text from the provider that the accent color I gave him is not in any of his color charts. It was then I realized he chose to use a different type of paint than what I gave him back at the start of the project. While people match paint colors all the time, one still expects the chosen brand of paint to be of good quality. Now, several windows do not open and more importantly, the front door DOES NOT easily open and when it is opened one sees how marred it is and the white primer that shows through. Is it poor quality paint or humid conditions? It really doesn't matter the reason. It just needs to be fixed! Also, there is a small section of the house that seems like it missed its 2nd coat of paint.
To his credit, he came out once to fix the paint on the front door, but still the same problem. It sticks shut so much that one has to yank it open. Its gotten to the point that only the side door is used now.
Additionally, about 2/3 through the project Mr. Hillsabeck asked for all, but $700 for an advance, stating he had payroll to make and Mothers Day was coming up. That alone was a fiasco as he knew from the initial payment that it came from a two-signature checking account and one of the signatures was out on a mission trip. There only remained one check with two signatures for final payment, so the church obliged him with enough to make payroll. We expected he and his crew to finish the job before PIF was given.
Madisen Paint Company stated at the time of its bid that its work is guaranteed. Mr. Hilsabeck is aware that this paint project is not finished to his customer's satisfaction. In fact, I received a text from him on June 10th stating he would be in the area for another paint job in two weeks. I spoke with that homeowner who stated her project was finished June 28th. At that time, Mr. Hilsabeck even told her that he was heading over to the church house to finished it. There has been no communication since June 10th and the door still remains shut!!
Response from Madisen Paint Co
"Thank you for review. I can appreciate your frustration with the timing of the project, though we were dealing with Indiana winter weather. I tried to explain to the customer that we needed a temp of 50 degrees or greater to start the painting. I did pressure wash the entire house in March, in the cold weather. Then we hand scraped when when we started in April, before the weather was optimal. Job was concluded by late April. when we left that day we received praises and HUGS. Customer seemed to be pleased with the project on the day of completion. We were then contacted by customer about 2 weeks later. We went back to the house and completed a list the customer had written out. At that time we recommended that the windows remain open for 24 to 48 hours for complete drying ( so they would not stick). Approximately a week later we received another phone call from the customer stating that the windows and front door are sticking. We then went back to the house to make sure all windows were functional and to touch up the front door. At that time, we stated again that the windows needed to stay open for 24 to 48 hours so they would not stick, ( they were not painted again). We touched up the front door and left it open with plastic up to cover the opening. We are more than happy to rectify this situation within a reasonable request ."

I cannot say enough about how great Mike and his crew are!  If you need a painter, just hire them.  Period.  I had three estimates.  The first, from Thayer's, was very, very high and the guy who came out acted offended to be in my home.  The second was unremarkable, and was about the same as Mike's.
Mike was wonderful -- he did excellent work, cleaned up every day.  He was on time, thorough, and operated independently.  By that, I mean that since I had just moved into my home, he moved things around as needed, made sure furniture and floors were covered -- exactly what I needed.  I never had to worry about what they were doing.  I would come home and things were done.
He is a perfectionist in his work.  They tackled a suede finish in my den and made sure that it looked great.  They had to put four coats of red on a wall in the living room -- but did four coats because that's what it took to look perfect.  The wallpaper came down in a day, and while there was only limited repairs needed, Mike made sure and skim all the wall to create a perfect finish.
In addition, let me say that he also goes far above and beyond the call of duty.  He called me one day to say that my dog had gotten out of the back fence (found a place to get through), and he followed her through the neighborhood for more than an hour until he got her back inside.  He knew she was new to the area and took care to make sure she made it back home.
You will not find a better person to take care of your home.  Period.  I will have Mike back in the next month or so to finish the rest of the rooms in my new/old house.  Hire him.

I hired Madison to replace some old rotted cedar siding on my house and
also to paint the house.  They did an AMAZING job and I am very
impressed.  They caulked the seams of the siding and filled in any holes
or knots, and reinforced any weak points in where the siding was nailed
to the house.  They also fixed where any of the attic vents were
falling down slightly.  They applied two solid coats to the house including 2 colors.  One prime and one trim.
After the job was done I cant tell you how
good the home looks.  I was, at one point in time, considering replacing
all the Cedar with concrete insulated siding, but after seeing how good
the house looks now with the rotted wood replaced, and knowing I should
be good for another 20 years with only minor maintenance, I think Ill
just keep it as is.  Thatll also save me a small ton of cash!!
After painting,..it looks like a brand new home!!!  Amazing job!!

Ive been wanting to get rid of my 1970s paneling for 4 years.  I finally had the time so contacted Madison for an estimate.  The estimate was EXTREMELY reasonable so I went ahead and gave them the job.  The first part of the job entailed panel removal and dry walling a family room, hallway and bedroom.  This is including laying trim, installing new doors and painting.  Quite a job.  I have been OVERLY impressed with Madison.  Not only did they come in and do the job to my expectations but beyond.  My home actually looks like a home now.  They cleaned up everyday and worked with me when I needed to move items from one room to the other so they could access the new areas of renovation. They did such a good job, I decided to go ahead with more renovations.  Basically they also stripped old wallpaper from two other rooms, installed and stained more new doors and painted those rooms.  Again,..very professional and very well done. Sooo,...since Im doing all of this,..lets strip, stain and seal the deck.  Once again,...GREAT job.  The last item on my "to do" list before winter is replacing dry rotted cedar siding and painting the house.  Ive already contracted with Madison since Ive seen the quality and professionalism they aspire too.  Thanks Madison!!  GREAT JOB!!
