We are stuck with an LED mirror that doesn't work properly and we can't return it because he "did us a favor" by ordering it from Amazon on his account. Paid an extra $100 for him to add an electrical outlet which still isn't done. I even send a Zelle request for a $100 refund, but no response. He said he'd replace a tile he had to remove to fit the vanity but like I said, he's not returning calls or texts. "

You should always seal cut countertops to prevent damage and to keep them looking their best. The right way to seal countertops depends on the type of material. For laminate and wood, apply epoxy or other specialty sealers by pouring it onto the countertop and letting it flow across the whole surface to the edges, guiding it with a paint stick or putty knife. You will need to move quickly so that it does not dry or harden before you are done. For stone countertops, use a sealant specially manufactured for your type of stone and apply it according to manufacturer directions. 

While laminate countertops can’t be restored like other materials like butcher block, granite, or Corian can, they can be restored to a smooth, sealed surface using refinishing kits or by covering them with a vinyl peel-and-stick sheet. You can also consider painting your laminate countertops for a fresh look. 

Contact cement is the best glue for resticking laminate to countertops. For best results, find a product that specifically states that it can be used to secure laminate countertops, such as 3M High-Strength Spray Adhesive, Weldwood Contact Cement, Gorilla Max Strength Clear Construction Adhesive, or 3M Fastbond. Before gluing, sand the area you plan to glue to remove any large debris and to rough it up for better adhesion.

If you find that the laminate boards are chipping as you cut, you can try flipping the board upside down and cutting the backside first. You can also make a small cut to the top of the board before flipping it and cutting it from the backside. If these strategies do not work, you can place painter’s tape along the edge of the cut to prevent chipping. It is also possible that the saw blade is dull and needs to be replaced.
