"Drywall was installed over the damaged and aging lathe and plaster. The crew arrived on time and worked diligently each day over several days. The crew assisted in clearing the rooms of heavy furniture and dissembling where needed. The Process was smooth from quote to finish . The rooms and furniture were put back in order and there is minimal residual dust. The ceilings are now pristine."

"We have two kitchen outlets, a light, and dishwasher along one wall that doesn't work. Rick tried to fix it, but the problem is difficult to determine. He spent two hours here and tried to fix the problem and wasn't able to determine the cause. He didn't charge us anything. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend him."

You can technically just paint over hairline cracks in plaster since these cracks are often harmless, but this will mostly be a waste of paint. Paint will only hide the hairline crack for a few months before it shows up again. The best solution is to repair the crack with flexible filler or joint compound before repainting.

The best tool for skim coating drywall is a skim coating blade, which can smooth out joint compound in wide stretches. While you could use a smaller drywall knife for skim coating, the smaller size means it’ll take longer to smooth out each section. Instead, consider investing in a skim coating blade for the quickest application.

All plaster walls will crack over time due to normal house settling and expansion and contraction from temperature and moisture changes. It’s highly recommended to use studs for a TV mount. The last thing you want is to be watching your favorite show when the TV falls off the wall. Studs are much stronger than drywall and quite a bit stronger than drywall anchors but, if you can’t find the studs or there simply aren’t any where you need them, you can use drywall anchors. It’s extremely important to make sure the anchors are rated for the load of the TV. We recommend using anchors that are rated far beyond the weight of whatever you’re hanging.
