"I walked into my basement on Saturday afternoon to discover a pool of water on the floor.  Looking at the walls I traced it back to right above the window that sits below my kitchen sink.  I popped the paneling off the top of the window box and immediately saw that the galvanized pipe leading from the sink drain to the stack had corroded and a hole had formed.  Frantic because it was 4pm on a Saturday and I knew I couldn't use my kitchen sink or dishwasher until I got this fixed (no easy task with two toddlers to keep up with), I jumped onto Angie's List looking for a plumber with Saturday hours and a good rating.
I called McDonagh and was told they could have someone at my place in an hour.  Todd showed up at 5:30 and immediately got to work.  Patrick (the owner) showed up with his son Nolan shortly thereafter to take a look and get Todd some parts off of his truck.  We gave Nolan a piece of the pizza my kids were having for dinner as an apology for interrupting his Saturday too.  Patrick came back with a price estimate that seemed fair to me for emergency short-notice service on a Saturday night.  Todd replaced the entire section of pipe from the sink drain to the stack and was finished and out the door by 7:30, leaving us with a fully functional kitchen again.
Huge thanks to Patrick and Todd (and Nolan) who really saved the day for us.  These guys are absolute professionals and really saved us from some major inconvenience.  Would absolutely recommend and use them again.

"Following an excellent experience with a master bath remodel last year, we recently engaged Nick for a second major project to “refresh” our kitchen (our wood floors had recently been refinished, so one goal was not to make any changes that would impact the floor). The project included re-facing/painting the existing cabinets and island; installing pullout drawers in the island cabinets; replacing the counters with granite; installing a new sink and garbage disposal; removing the existing tile backsplash and replacing it with new mosaic tile; replacing some outlets with integrated USB capability; painting as needed; and improving the lighting with new in ceiling recessed LED lighting. Nick also removed an existing kitchen desk and bookshelf area and replaced it with new bar cabinetry that blends with the rest of the kitchen and installed a wine cooler. As we experienced with the first project, Nick and his team work very efficiently; most of this project was done in less than two weeks. They do most of the work themselves and collaborate with quality suppliers for the granite fabrication and cabinet manufacturing. Workmanship is of excellent quality, with attention to the little details. Nick does a great job of communicating status and options and offering suggestions that improve the finished product. We were happy to be able to get on Nick’s busy schedule again and are thrilled to have a “new” kitchen that is brighter, more contemporary, and more functional."

"Joe from JMS Drain Services was my service technician who arrived well within the window scheduled service time. Joe came in, inspected the sink to determine how to resolve my issue, took out the tool (snake apparatus) to clear the sink, and departed my premises within 15 minutes. I was pleased he resolved my clogged sink so quickly so I could rest after a night's work. Thank you again, Joe."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

No, they have multiple designs. Choosing a bathroom fixture will depend in large part on the current configuration you have. You will want to pick a model that matches the faucet holes currently in your sink, countertop, or wall. If you want to make a complete changeover, you may need to buy and install a new vanity and sink at the same time you purchase your faucet.

Because it’s an engineered stone, quartz composite is much denser than other natural stone alternatives. For instance, if you drop a heavy object in a natural stone sink, there’s a chance the sink could crack, chip, or dent. Quartz’s density means quartz sinks are more resistant to scratches or staining. However, darker quartz sinks are more likely to show scratches or scuffs, and quartz sinks can stain over time.

Never pour used motor oil down the drain. Doing so can have serious environmental consequences, including contaminating groundwater, endangering animals, and killing vegetation. It can also clog your pipes, causing backups in your plumbing or the wastewater treatment plant. In most places, pouring motor oil down the drain is illegal, whether you do it in your home or a storm drain.

Putting in a new bidet attachment or seat requires as little as 30 minutes. Installing a full bidet toilet or stand-alone bidet might take one to three hours. Additionally, if you need a GFCI outlet installed, that can take 30 minutes to three hours depending on the complexity of the job.

You’ll only need to replace your sink’s pipes when you start to notice signs of wear like corrosion or leaking. Most pipes last somewhere between 20 and 100 years, depending on the material. Copper and cast iron can last up to 100 years. Galvanized steel and brass generally have a 50-year lifespan. PVC pipes last 25 to 40 years.
