"My first few quotes showed me what the patio would look like with paver bricks and I thought that was my only option. They suggested concrete which I actually wanted originally. They started about a week after our chat and finished the job in a day. It looks really good and clean"

"Brian and his crew returned to my building on a warranty followup- their previous work done wonders for my flooding problems, but my foundation walls are apparently made of swiss cheese and there was one small seepage problem remaining which only shows up during a "100 year rain event".  Brian indicated that they go for 100%, not 99% and scheduled time to come back out to my building to address the issue under the warranty (a.k.a. free of charge) from the original work.  They came back out, dug up the foundation again, and found a crack hidden behind an old hasty concrete patching job that had been tarred over, which was determined to be causing the remaining seepage.  They repaired the crack and were done with the whole task in only hours.  I am a repeat customer, and can't say enough good things about Crawlspace and Basement Waterproofing solutions, they are friendly, helpful, and most of all, stand behind their work!

"Jason and team did a great job.  Jason came out within a day or two from my initial email and we discussed all the options/services they provided (liner, concrete, crack repair, and spray foam insulation.  I really appreciated how he discussed the pros and cons of each solution and his low pressure style.
ABC Crawlspaces prices were the the lowest of all the bids I got and I was even told by other insulation companies if I could get closed cell insulation for that cost that I should go for it.  The best thing was their service and quality of work.  It is rare to find a company that has fair prices and good service, but ABC Crawlspaces is one of those companies.  We are very happy with all they did for us and our basement is much more usable and the air quality has improved dramatically.  Thank you Jason!"

"After the big rain in April (4/18), I called several companies to come out and rod out the sewer line and send a camera through. Lincoln Sewers was one of the companies that I called to get a quote for this service. Robert Heath came out to perform the inspection. He identified a disconnect in the pipe and wrote out a thorough proposal to cover the worst-case scenario, as well as giving some guidance on how to work with my insurance company.
Robert's knowledge of Chicago plumbing code was the primary influence in my choice of Lincoln, as other plumbers did not identify some of the potential issues (e.g. PVC pipe from the toilet stack going into the concrete foundation, alignment of
catch basin relative to sewer line, running a camera from the catch basin to more clearly identify the point of disconnect).
The insurance adjuster came out, evaluated Lincoln's proposal and paid for the claim which covered excavation and concrete repair, but not pipe repair. I immediately scheduled Robert's team to come out, and they showed up on time and ready to work.
Over the course of 8 hours on Monday, the crew:
  • * broke through the concrete foundation from the toilet stack out to the foundation wall
  • * dug up approximately 18 ft. of old sewer pipe
  • * installed a new sewer pipe
  • * removed all debris
  • * repaired all concrete damage

I'm pleased with all aspects of their work as well as their professionalism and would not hesitate to hire them for future work.

Concrete Resurfacing questions, answered by experts

Concrete leveling is not typically covered by insurance. In some cases where the shifting concrete is caused by a natural disaster or storm, you may be able to file an insurance claim if your policy specifically covers those circumstances. In most cases, though, you’ll pay out-of-pocket for concrete leveling.

The method used to repair cracks in your concrete driveway will depend on the extent of the damage, but the most common method for small cracks is to use a driveway resurfacing compound. This solution is either cementitious or made of polyurethane, and it will seal the crack and make your driveway appear undamaged.

For more severe cracks, you will likely need to hire a professional driveway repair service. They can use mudjacking, epoxy injections, partial driveway replacements, or a combination of these to fix more serious cracks in your concrete driveway and to prevent recurring issues.

Yes, thicker concrete is less likely to crack. The thicker the concrete is, the less susceptible it is to extreme changes in weather conditions that often cause concrete to crack or chip. If you’re unable to install a thicker concrete driveway for any reason, you can also ask your professional to install more rebar or wire mesh to provide greater strength and better resilience to damage.

To maintain concrete floors, clean them regularly with a damp mop and avoid using abrasive cleaning agents that can damage the finish. Reseal the concrete every 2-3 years to protect the surface and enhance its appearance.

Sealing resurfaced concrete is not an absolute necessity. However, it is recommended, and in most cases, a high-quality concrete sealer can protect the surface from stains as well as water penetration, extending the life of the resurfacing material. Some sealers are formulated to protect pigments from fading due to UV exposure. Sealer tends to enhance the colors in decorative resurfacing applications, making them more vibrant and richer compared to the duller, more faded appearance of concrete colors without sealer.
