"Got a quote from 5 star Yorkville and was going to have them do the work . Was going to by the paint myself since it was on sale at Sherwin Williams. I asked Mike how many gallons I would need and he told me I have to sign the contract first. It felt like he thought I was trying to pull a fast one on him, but that was not the case at all. If that’s how you do business then I will go elsewhere which I did. I had a new contractor the same day and you lost out on a job you would oh had. As far as I’m concerned this was a bad business decision since there are a lot of contractors looking for businesses"

"Matt and his team are the ultimate professionals. Matt spent hours with us recommending color choices for our living room, kitchen, main bathroom, hallway, master bedroom/bathroom and family room. His color consultation and choice of colors for the various rooms in our house was priceless. He mixed a custom color for the wall behind our bar. This took about 10 different formululations and turned out perfect. Our master bedroom had textured paint and ceilings that needed to be scraped/sanded down. Multiple coats of joint compound were applied to smooth out the walls. The team did a wonderful job and the walls turned out beautiful. He returned after we had carpeting installed in our master bedroom and touched up all of the marks from the installers. He went over our house with a fine tooth comb after the painting was completed and any imperfections that were found were fixed immediately. We highly recommend Matt and his team. "UPDATE: painting is coming off after 2 years. They gave a warranty and agreed to come assess and repaint one side of the home. Complaints filed with BBB due to them not responding. Don't expect them to honor their warranty, and would warn anyone about NOT using this service in the future. Miguel and Jose were the project managers on our home painting project. The group was very professional and courteous. They did excellent work painting our home and cleaning up afterwards. They answered all our questions without hesitation. We have already received many compliments from our neighbors. They also worked with us for special requests and questions about paint brands and colors. They finished the work promptly and had a reasonable and competitive price."

"I had a drywall disaster one Saturday night. I thought the drywall on the affected wall would need to be replaced. As a matter of fact I was told that much by a very knowledgeable person. So I went to angie’s list with the intention to find a drywall installer. MKD was one of the providers i selected. I did that at about 8 pm on that Saturday night. I then turned on my TV to watch a movie not expecting anything till at least Monday morning. In about 3 minutes I got contacted by MKD and after discussing my options, I was happy to learn that all was not lost and that they could do a miracle saving me from installing new drywall - a 2k endeavor. And guess what, they could do it Sunday morning! Wow. Mario showed up exactly on time. He was very patient and friendly throughout the whole proce . He worked for about 7 hours and did an AMAZING job. I also asked him to touch an area in the kitchen that had bothered me and my wife for months. He took care of that too. You should paint your home exterior every five to 10 years, on average. Climate and surroundings can affect how well paint holds up. Wood siding will likely need a fresh coat of paint every three to seven years. Paint on brick tends to last about eight to 17 years, on average.
Calculate the square footage of the area you want to paint. Divide the square footage by 350 (the average square footage a gallon of paint covers). Multiply the number of gallons you need by two, as you’ll likely be applying two coats of paint. Then they add the total square footage for all of the walls to be painted. To calculate the price, they multiply the total square footage by their cost per square foot to prep and paint. Additional costs may factor in such as repairs, additional trim, and walls higher than the first story.
The cost to paint the exterior of a house ranges from $1,900 to $4,500 or about $1.50 to $4 per square foot, depending on the size, height, and complexity of the home layout. Other cost factors include your location, the type of siding (e.g., wood, aluminum, brick, stucco, etc.), and the kind of paint (e.g. oil-based, latex, acrylic, etc.). Painting the trim a different color or painting intricately designed trim can also increase the cost.
You should apply at least two coats of paint when painting the exterior of your house. Two coats of paint provides better durability and more even coverage than just one coat.
