"Rivera Concrete Paving's $8,500 bid became $11,000. Owner Magdiel Rivera adds charges after you're committed and doesn't follow through after payment. Cost increases: I mentioned roots upfront - he said equipment could handle it, then charged $450. Said grading unnecessary, then created false urgency claiming we HAD to grade before concrete. Later said could grade after. Added $1,800. Crew broke drainage pipes, charged me $250. Couldn't move AC condenser despite my asking during estimate. Payment tactics: Said pay "when satisfied." Then requested half early, then full payment before done. When I said work incomplete, he asked "Don't you trust me?" then broke promises. Broken promises: Walkway cured wrong, no follow-up. $1,800 grading included 3-month landscaping - no communication. Promised debris cleanup, later said not responsible. Damaged 4-month fence, couldn't repair properly, paid $300 after pressure. Dismisses costs at estimate, adds them later. Makes promises, then excuses."

"Called 14 other contractors and no one called back. Called Northscape and Sam returned the call promptly. He immediately set up a time to come and review the job. Weather played a factor in delaying the project which in the end proved to be a blessing. Sam and John the owners came out with their crew and finished the job in a timely fashion considering the weather. Their work is phenomenal and their crew is dedicated and hard working. Their cost is extremely competitive and a great value for the $$$'s! We've had many compliments from family, neighbors and friends on the new patio and sidewalk. The prior patio had sagged and water especially in the winter would puddle by the patio door. Thus causing ice and also going into the foundation. That is all gone now! I highly recommend these guys to anyone. Fair, professional and prompt! Great service and most importantly the highest quality of materials. Northscape Enterprises ROCKS!"
