"Work was done quickly and expertly and carries a 3 year warranty. Cost is based on project not time to preform which sounds like a benefit. I had one electrical outlet installed on outdoor front patio taping power inside right behind new outlet. Parts maybe $50; time on project 40 mins as he also checked two switches at front door too. Cost? $729. My fault I guess. I’m new to Iowa and didnt know the electrical code but I should have done it myself. No complaints about the work though."

"Rick did an excellent job I needed lights added to above a new shower and he also moved an outlet from one side of the wall to the other and added two switches to it. Also added a new outlet on another wall. Everything is working well. I would hire again, which is probably the greatest compliment I can give him."

"I first asked for a quote back in February of 2024. When I received the quote I decided to wait on this project. Then we lost power for 2 days due to a storm. I then decided it was time and contacted the contractor again. He sent me an updated quote and the project was scheduled. It's now installed and I'm very happy with how it turned out. Hopefully it will be a long time before we need to use the generator because we lose our power. But we are ready when it happens. I will definitely use this company again for any electrical jobs that come up. Andrew and his crew were great."

"I was pleased with the installation of the lightning rods--communication was great and the work was done quickly. What I wasn't happy with is he quoted me a price that was less then my actual bill was BUT the price was still less then two other contractors bids."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Moline, be cautious if a contractor offers only verbal estimates, requests full payment upfront, or avoids discussing permits and insurance. Watch for suggestions to use outdated materials like aluminum wiring, or a lack of experience with Moline’s older homes and flood-prone areas. Door-to-door offers, especially after storms, and vague timelines are also warning signs when comparing electrical contractors.

Helpful?

The longevity of electrical work in Moline depends on using materials rated for local humidity and temperature swings, ensuring proper moisture protection, and storm-resistant grounding. Quality workmanship, clear labeling, and accessible installations help with future maintenance. Considering flood risks, shifting soil, and the settling common in Moline’s older homes is also key to maintaining a safe, long-lasting electrical system.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Moline, copper wiring is preferred for its durability in older homes, while THWN-2 rated wire is ideal for damp basements near the river. Use rigid metal conduit outdoors to withstand freeze-thaw cycles, and choose weather-resistant panels with proper NEMA ratings. Always install AFCI and GFCI devices to address local moisture concerns and meet safety standards for Moline’s climate.

Helpful?

Homes in Moline are great candidates for electrical upgrades if they have 100-amp panels, knob and tube wiring, or are located in older neighborhoods with frequent breaker trips or flickering lights. Basements provide easier access for rewiring, but moisture from the Mississippi River can be a concern. If you rely on extension cords or have outdated outlets, improvements will increase safety and reliability.

Helpful?

In Moline, electrical contractors often specialize in residential rewiring for historic homes in neighborhoods like Old Towne, panel upgrades for mid-century houses, and smart home installations. Commercial contractors serve local businesses and manufacturing plants, while specialists handle generator setups, solar panel installations, EV charging stations, and pool wiring. Many are experienced with the unique electrical needs created by Moline’s riverfront climate and older housing stock.
