"The guys at Top Bros are Top Notch! Cesar was very helpful every step of the way. He was honest and professional. I trusted him from the very start of our project. Adan did the tile work in our walk in shower, it all came together nicely and turned out way better than I could ever imagine! I will hire them over and over again!"

"installers were great, let us know the status every day, they did an excellent cleanup job and got finished earlier than estimated. The floor is beautiful. We were return customers as we used Garrys at a previous home to refinish wood floors and would use them again for floor or carpet jobs."

Small jobs welcome

"New Age Painting/Remodeling, completely remodeled both bathrooms with floor to ceiling tile for us. Installed new facets and plumbing. The bathrooms looked incredible, the pride Adrian the owner took in his work, showed. He never cut corners on anything he did, and was extremely helpful in his suggestions on how to accomplish our project the most cost effective way. I would highly recommend him and have to my family and close friends!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Tile shouldn’t be set tight against the tub. Bathtubs can expand when filled, and they can shift slightly with the weight of occupants. For this reason, it’s important to leave a slight gap between the bathtub and the first row of tile. Aim for a narrow gap of approximately 1/16 of an inch, filled with caulk, to allow for this expansion and movement while still allowing for tile shower waterproofing.

It’s easiest to start from an edge as it gives you a straight line. A problem may arise if your edge doesn’t line up perfectly, in which case it’s best to start from the center. Some think that starting tile from the center adds a focal point in the center of the hearth.

If you’re handling your tile removal yourself, seal the room using painter’s tape and heavy-duty contractor bags to prevent dust and shards from escaping. Use a claw hammer or a pry bar and a mallet to get behind the tile and pry it away from the floor or wall. Once your tiles are all removed, sweep everything into contractor bags for disposal, being careful not to overfill them. Make sure you wear a dust mask, safety goggles, and work gloves to keep yourself safe from injury while you work.

Different types of tile cutters may work best depending on the type of tile you are cutting and the size of your project. There are two main types of tile cutters: manual and electric. Manual tile cutters are quick and easy to use for small projects and softer tile materials, but they can only make straight cuts. Electric tile cutters make light work of big projects and can cut through harder materials.

You can purchase natural stone tiles from your local home improvement store or stone distributor.

Simply put, natural stone flooring is a high-end style that outlasts its wood and carpet counterparts. After finding a style you love, a stone flooring company near you can help source and install them for a reliably clean look.
