"Quick response and turnaround time. I started looking for pros to replace two glass blocks on bathroom window on HomeAdvisor on Wednesday morning, and Hardy Glass Blocks completed the job on Thursday afternoon. Everyone was very friendly and efficient. I highly recommend these guys. Other pros in the area wanted to replace the whole window, when only two glass blocks needed repair. I'm glad I decided to save time and money by selecting to work with Hardy Glass Blocks!"

"Did a great job. Prompt visit to do estimate and timely scheduling. Came and did work and there was an issue with surface after it dried (invisible until next day). Messaged their office and they were back 2 days later and fully remedied the issue by re-grinding and applying material from a different batch. They resurfaced a porch that was spalling and it perfectly matches the stairs. Very friendly and cleaned up job site nicely."

Glass Block Windows questions, answered by experts

Yes, many professionals provide custom-cut glass replacements for enclosures that require precise sizing.

Luckily, glass block windows need minimal maintenance. Other than regular cleaning, the only maintenance involved in having a glass block window is inspecting for cracks every year and applying sealer to the mortar joints if the blocks are set in masonry mortar. Glass block windows hold up well against wind and moisture better than traditional windows and are not prone to rot.

Glass block mortar is the best choice for glass block window units. It is specifically formulated for glass block window installation. Glass block mortar is usually a mixture of Portland cement, sand, and special chemicals. It is a white mortar that is applicable inside and outside your home. Do not use regular tile mortar because it may not have the binding strength and flexibility required for glass block windows.

Glass walls are more expensive overall than their brick or drywall counterparts. However, if you need walls for a building with more than two or three stories, glass walls are the more budget-friendly option.

DIY is possible for small projects, but professional installation ensures proper sealing, structural integrity, and a precise finish.
