"Outstanding service. Emailed to request a quote on Sunday night and we had an estimate by Monday and as soon as we approved the estimate, they started on removing the trees. My wife and I had also done some clean-up of smaller trees and yard debris on our own and Flynn's disposed of it for us for no additional charge. All of our work was completed as soon as they were able to get Julie to come out and mark utilities. After the trees were removed, they did a great job cleaning up the yard and you could hardly tell we had trees removed at all. Hard-working, professional, pleasant and prompt. No complaints and will definitely call again or refer to friends for any future work."

No. Although you have the right to trim the branch if it overhangs your property, you don’t have the right to take the fruit. Since the tree’s care is the responsibility of the neighbor, the fruit is also theirs to pick. This is also a situation where having a conversation with your neighbor is a good idea. They might not mind if you take some fruit, especially if it’s on a branch that’s on your property.

For the most part, homeowners don’t need permission to cut down a tree on their own private property. But there are some exceptions. If the tree is very large, very old, or protected for any reason (it’s a heritage species, for example), then you may need a permit in order to cut it down. Trees that are close to public property or power lines may also be subject to special rules. If a disease has attacked and destroyed the roots, then the tree may fall over as soon as it has died or while part of it is still alive. Trees that die with their roots left in place tend to stay standing for much longer, but those roots will decay eventually, allowing gravity to do the rest.

Some trees will bounce back just fine, and others will struggle and possibly die. Evergreens, for instance, have a very difficult time recovering after droughts and usually die after periods of extreme dryness.
