After they replaced three bay windows, we tried them on realigning two heavy sliding windows that would not shut properly because the house had sunk over the last 100 years. We had to stuff insulation into the one inch cracks each winter to keep the cold out. Then we fixed two windows with seals broken so that they fogged up. Lastly some wooden framing had rotted out in two windows over the years; they were repaired as good as new. LONG VERSION After decades of neglect from the previous owner, and a few years of neglect from us, our 31 yo casement windows were in terrible shape (10 banks of 2). Major rotting of wood sills, sashes, brick moulding, and more. Ronnie & crew in the field, along with Dylan in the office, provided a clear, detailed, competitive quote based on what they could see during the initial inspection. Given the windows' particularly poor condition, they appropriately warned me they might uncover additional repairs while taking everything apart for the quoted repairs. I knew this to be the case from past experience, but still appreciated they called it out explicitly. Ronnie & crew were on-time, respectful, communicative & informative, and ensured I knew the status of the work as it progresssed. During the repairs, Ronnie identified some hidden issues -- though not entirely unexpected (see aforementioned warning) -- which required substantially more work. In each case, Ronnie showed me the newly uncovered issue, explained why the work needed (or did not need) to be done, and confirmed how I wanted to proceed. Most of the additional repairs clearly were necessary to support and complete the originally quoted repairs, so I agreed. In an instance or two, he noted an additional repair was non-critical, and I passed -- no pressure, no problem. We still have 2 banks of 2 windows each, with sashes too far gone to repair, so Ronnie and team are working with me to identify options for sash replacement. Hopefully, since the original model is discontinued and not available, we can use a newer model from the manufacturer (if they fit), But if not, Ronnie is actively working with me on contingency options. I wish all my home repair experiences were this positive. I said it above, and it bears repeating: outstanding! I know definitively who I'll call next time I need window repairs."

"A lot more to discuss about this than I would like. Drain tile construction seems fine, which is the most important part of this project by far! We will learn more upon a rainy season in the fall or spring. Demo was not as clean as we would have liked. We have steel studs in basement, so they pushed out walls to put drains to window wells behind electrical conduit for outlets. This ripped the drywall off of studs and pulled framing away from windows. We had to rerun electricity around the new drains and do some repairs because of this. If we had wood studs, we do not think that they would not have been able to cause as much damage, so this shortcut cost us some work. There is also a small dent in our ceiling on the main floor from when they were carrying materials. Dust was everywhere. They left the door to the basement open during demo and construction so dust was all over our main floor. Also, they mixed the concrete in our garage, so everything we move out of the basement to avoid dust is now covered in concrete dust. This is very difficult to remove since mixing with water will form more concrete. They asked what we need from them to fix this, but we do not see a good solution other than wiping down each individual item ourselves. It's a lot of work we spent a lot of time trying to avoid by following Alex's recommendations. There was a miscommunication and Reliable Basements did not put the new sump pump in, plus the check valves were put 2 inches from the lid of the sump pit leaving the pit inaccessible to us. After several attempts at communicating with them, they responded and replaced it and fixed the check valve placement in a timely manner. They missed a crack in the foundation, but were quick to come out and fill it for the same price they offered during the drain tile installation."

"Estimator Cathy came on time, as scheduled, discussed work to be done, made some suggestions and wrote up a detailed Scope of Work and contract, sending it promptly. Unfortunately, was not able to complete work before Winter, but as soon as the weather improved, was put on the job board and the work scheduled. Office called to reconfirm date of work and time. Team arrived on time with foreman on scheduled day. Hooked up hoses to external water lines and covered plantings, grass, and sidewalk around house. Excellent work with team walking around the house and catching all cracks, openings and areas where mortar had loosened from brickwork. Chimney and front limestone was drilled out, as was the mortar under all window sills and replaced. The resulting work was neat, matched the existing mortar, so now a week later, you cannot tell where the tuck pointing was done. I've already recommended Arrow to colleagues who were looking for a professional and careful tuck pointer. Highly recommended.
