"They had the whole tree taken down within the afternoon. The tree was surrounded by power lines, which no other tree service could handle with the equipment they had. They pulled out the remaining roots that would've damaged our newly paved driveway . We also were very satisfied with their landscaping . Highly recommended! They will be the first to call if we need any work done."

"These men are professionals who can be trusted to do quality, safe work. They were prompt, stayed within their estimate, efficient, and spent the time necessary to make sure that all the work agreed upon was understood by both parties. They also cleaned up all the debris and left the property looking neat. I was very glad that I chose High & Tight to do the work my insurance company required of me. This was a tall 60 year old maple that needed trimming up close to the house. They carefully removed major limbs and left the tree looking good and well balanced. I would gladly recommend them to anyone."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, many services include stump grinding to eliminate tripping hazards and improve aesthetics.

It’s not always easy to tell when a tree is dying, although signs like dropping branches and brittle bark can sometimes offer clues. It can also be difficult to know whether a tree is dead or dormant, especially if it’s a deciduous tree. You’ll want to wait until a growth season to get a good idea of a tree’s health. When in doubt, contact an arborist for a consultation.

Yes, it’s okay to trim low branches on a tree, also known as limbing up or raising the crown. Essentially, you’ll trim the lower third of the tree (trunk) and leave the upper two-thirds of the tree (crown). Arborists recommend trimming 20% of a tree’s leaves per season for two to three seasons. Trimming low branches allows light to flow through the tree, increasing circulation and making the tree stronger and healthier.

Yes, you should trim the lower branches of your maple tree for safety. Trimming maple trees as they grow helps lift the crown and canopy and trains it to grow straight up. A good rule of thumb is to prune enough branches to leave 6 feet of clearance under the tree.

The lifespan of a bird's nest depends on the species. The building process can take from two days to three weeks. Once built, the nesting period for baby birds can last from two to ten weeks before they leave the nest. While most young birds are ready in two to six weeks, some predatory species may need up to two and a half months. Some species nest four to five times per year, so a nest could remain in use for several months. For specific information about a particular nest's longevity, it is best to consult a wildlife professional.
