"It was great to work with Icon Builders to building our dream home. They went out of their way to accommodate the completion of our home build in time for school. Their response times are great and the staff is truly personable. It was great working with Jenna, Natalia, Joe, Scott, Shawna and Charlie. I will recommend Icon to anyone looking to build a custom home."

"We recently had our two main bathrooms remodeled by A P Builder (Owner is Angelo). We are totally thrilled with the end results of these projects. Angelo was involved in every phase of the project, many times offering valuable suggestions that we had not thought about. The work was done while paying attention to every detail, no matter how large or small. If and when there was a “glitch”, it was dealt with promptly and completely to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend Angelo and his company for future work at our home. Bravo to A.P. Builders and Angelo for a JOB WELL DONE!"

"We actually had 4 major renovations - the basement finished, master bath remodel, kitchen remodel, and garage finished. Started the projects on 6/1/2022 and finished on 7/31/2022 - amazing time frame. Projects flowed smoothly, attention to detail was awesome. All of our questions and concerns were addressed to give us the utmost comfort level to choose Aaron/Clean Edge to handle our remodeling projects. Carmella did an awesome job in keeping us updated on when to expect contractors to be in the home. There is not one thing that I would have changed in what was done, but believe me, we did change things as we moved along in the projects... added a 1/2 bath in the basement and changed the kitchen and basement counter choices. Aaron and crew were amazing to work with. I would highly recommend them and were very happy to work with them."

"I have used Touchstone Group Construction on multiple projects in our vintage Greystone two-flat on Chicago's southside: new bath on 2nd floor that required a complete gut, variety of plumbing work throughout the entire building, complete reno of our basement install of Crown-Molding in 1st floor unit, install of light fixtures. We are so happy with results. The work is always fantastic, pricing is very competitive. This is a professional operation, they know what it takes to get the job done and they have the resources. And most importantly, renovation especially of a historic building always has surprises. At all times, they never back away from the issue and always, always come up with solution that is reasonable and affordable. I am getting ready to engage with Touchstone Group Construction again for some final issues that we need to address in this historic property and then.....we are going to buy another apartment building, probably a 3 flat and we already know exactly who we are going to call for all remodeling and issues. You will not be disappointed with this group!"

"I recently hired Gomez Brothers Concrete, Inc. to install a new concrete patio and fix my driveway, and I could not be happier with the results! From start to finish, their team was professional, punctual, and highly skilled. They took the time to understand exactly what I wanted, provided a fair and transparent quote, and completed the job on schedule. The quality of their work is outstanding?my patio looks amazing, and the driveway is smooth and well-finished. They paid attention to every detail, ensuring proper drainage and a flawless finish. The crew was also very respectful of my property, cleaning up thoroughly after the job was done. If you are looking for a reliable, high-quality concrete contractor, I highly recommend. They exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely be using them again for future projects!"

I purchased 3 hours of time for handyman service. I had a list of things that I wanted done during this time with my contact at Sound Construction. Via email, he shared with me what could be reasonably be done during the 3 hour timeframe.  We agreed that 2 exhaust fans would be replaced in two of our bathrooms.  He, also, asked me if we wanted to buy the exhaust fans or if we wanted him to buy them. Since we have no expertise in buying exhaust fans, I told him to buy them.  He indicated that the cost would be approximately $250 which was agreeable to us. I told him that I would pay him for the exhaust fans when the worker arrived to do the work. We got a follow-up email saying that the exhaust fans were more expensive that the original quote. He said that the prices had  gone up since he last purchased exhaust fans. The new  total amount would be $300 which we agreed to pay.

A  Sound Construction worker arrived on time to do the work.  He was very organized and was careful to cover my bathroom countertops before laying out his tools. He was pleasant and I was impressed with his expertise. He said that one of the exhaust fans took more time to install than he expected. While I had purchased 3 hours of time for this installation, he actually needed an additional 10 to 15 minutes to replace the two exhaust fans.  So to complete the job, he needed between 3 hours 10 mins. to 3 hours 15 mins.  He then told me that I needed to pay him for an extra hour of his time because of the additional minutes used. I asked him if I could pay him for an extra 15 minutes or 30 minutes. He indicated that I needed to pay for a full hour of his time. He said that since I had to pay for another hour of his time; I could give him additional work to do. I then asked him to do some small tasks to fill in the extra 45 minutes that I was forced to pay. All of the work that he did was very well done. My concern was about how the pricing was handled. I would have been fine with paying for an additional 15 mins. or even 30 mins. I felt ripped off being asked to pay for an extra hour.

When it came time to pay him, I asked him for the sales receipt for the exhaust fans. He said that he did not have the sales receipt but that I owed him the $300. Who charges customers for materials and doesn't have a receipt to document the costs!!! I was shocked and angry. Plus, he said that I owed him additional dollars for materials that he needed to do the work that was not included in the amount quoted in the Angie's list deal. Therefore, I had to pay him $414.00. This was $114.00 more than I had expected to pay. I resented paying for the extra full hour of time, the additional money for his materials and the fact that he had no sales receipt for the exhaust fans. I will not use them again for any services.

"I've been working with John and his sub contractors on this property since August of 2013, and they have been patient, responsive, and transparent throughout, especially appreciated when my property insurance had to get involved and they worked with them to get them details, quotes, and insight, as well as being a much-needed professional advocate that I never would have been able to accomplish on my own. I have no doubt that John's professionalism helped speed the process along.
When I realized I would have to switch contractors from my first GC, out of everyone I called, John was the only one who brought someone with him for a second opinion on his assumptions, and even sent additional subs out to ensure the accuracy of the quote. I have had nothing but great experiences with him and everyone he works with since.

"Everything was excellent with this builder. They are very trustworthy and the employees are very reliable,., I would definitely recommend them."

"Shawn and his team made the whole process so easy! They got the most out of my insurance claim and I didn't have to fight with my insurance co. they handled it all. In addition their construction work was beautiful! Have received many compliments from neighbors about quality of work. They were incredible . I left for work in morning and by the time I got home I had a new roof. Not a scrap showing anyone had been there. Same with siding and gutters. Also important to me,if I had questions somebody was always on other side of the phone!"
