"Baltazar spent almost 3 hours working on our sprinkler system. He moved 5 rotating nozzles that were located too close to the sidewalk/driveway. He replaced a valve for one watering zone and upgraded two nozzles to improve watering coverage. He located our ‘missing’ control box which we knew existed but could never find because it was buried under 2 inches of dirt in the front landscaping! We also had the backflow preventer certification scheduled by him with a plumber he works with. . . and the guy came the following day! Baltazar even provided us with hints and tips on maintaining our system. We also hired him last year to repair a leak. Highly recommend him!"

Watering the lawn after aeration is crucial for getting the most benefits out of it. Not watering the lawn enough will cause the efforts of aeration to be in vain. This can limit grass growth, which may sound great for limiting mowing, but it also leads to a lawn full of grass that looks dull and sparse. Eventually, compacted soil can weaken grass, while also making it more vulnerable to pests, diseases, and erosion and even causing it to die off.

Several signs indicate that your lawn may require aeration. If you notice water pooling or runoff after rainfall, it suggests poor water infiltration, and aeration could help. Compacted soil may cause grass to thin out, turn yellow, or struggle to grow. Additionally, the presence of a thatch layer, which is a buildup of dead grass and debris, can indicate aeration is needed to alleviate thatch and promote healthier grass growth. Monitoring these signs can help you determine when your lawn would benefit from aeration.

In the fall, you should aerate the soil, overseed the bare spots, kill weeds, mow the lawn low, and rake your leaves. By boosting your lawn’s health in the fall, your grass will be stronger throughout the winter and come back healthier in the spring. You should also trim your perennials so that they withstand the winter and are ready for new growth in the spring.
