"Calvin was who called me back and he said in order for them to come out and give me a service I would have to sign an agreement that I would continue with them for a year. When I asked what happens if I'm not happy with the job, Calvin said it would be no problem to discontinue. Well, I wan't happy with the job, though the tech that came out to service our home was very nice and professional. However, it did not take care of my pest problem so after 2 tries I cancelled. Now they are saying I have to pay a disconnect fee per the agreement. I told them what I was told and all they would say is "I apologize." Clearly this is a rehearsed line that they've told others. I would have to say that this is a dishonest company. Saying what it takes to get the job and then holding you responsible for their poor work. I am a bit cautious to say the least to go with Angies again if this is whom they are recommending."

We are a family owned pest control company that is in our third generation of serving the St. Louis area. We have been protecting homes and businesses in St. Louis since 1959. We have 3 offices in the area in St. Peters, Ballwin, and Fenton.

"Just wanted to share my experience w/ Blue Chip Pest Control. My 6 month old puppy got into their rat poison box in my back yard which they assured me would never happen. They said he could never get into it and that the poison would never hurt him because of his size. (About 50lbs. at the time). He couldn’t stop vomiting and was pooping blood. My girlfriend took him straight to the Vet where they treated him with vitamin K and some nausea stuff for his stomach. I have been a customer for over 10 yrs. and when I called to notify them they told me that wasn’t possible like I made it up. All I asked from them was to please pay the approx. $400 Vet bill. We went back and forth for several months finding it very difficult to get ahold of them most times. Finally they asked me to get something in writing from my Vet which I did and they still would not respond for over a month. I then threatened to leave a bad review and within an hr. they responded offering to credit my account for the Vet bill. That would have been great if they’d have did that in the beginning, but after all the grief all I really wanted was to get reimbursed so I could take my business elsewhere. I know the ownership changed recently but that is no way to treat a long term customer. I will never use them again and if asked, will def. urge others to use someone else!"

While vinegar doesn’t get rid of spider webs that already exist, spraying a mixture of vinegar and water in areas where you’ve found webs before will deter spiders from rebuilding there. The acetic acid within vinegar can harm and kill spiders, so they’ll want to stay as far away from this strong-smelling substance as they can get.

Gophers are ubiquitous in certain areas, and the only way to completely get rid of them is to put down gopher wire two feet below the surface of your soil and vertically along the edges of your yard. Unfortunately, this may not be a practical solution unless you’re completely redoing your yard or installing an aboveground garden. Alternatively, you may consider putting underground rock barriers around the edge of your yard to discourage gopher visits. However, you’ll still likely get some pests because they can dig as deep as 6 feet below the surface.

Unless foxes are a major threat or nuisance, living peacefully alongside them is often better. Reclusive foxes are rarely a risk to humans, and they can help keep rodent populations at bay and boost biodiversity in your yard. Plus, if you are a wildlife lover, there is the simple privilege and pleasure of watching a fox family interact right on your doorstep.
