"Ross called back within 30 minutes and set up an appointment for the same week at my convenience. He was extremely professional and very easy to work with. He was on time both time he had to be in my home. I had my results in my email within a few hours of him picking up the sensors. I truly appreciate his time and explanations. I would definitely recommend Ross and Boomtown Radon Testing without hesitation."

"We had a radon remediation installed by them in 2021. We've had to replace the fan 2x already- whereas the expected lifetime of a fan is 8-10 years."

"If you are looking for radon mitigation or radon testing dont look beyond clay radon services.I was amazed by his service the way he explain me the whole process and then sending out the contract having all the warannty details and other info. And on the work perspective he made it look so simple and flawless that i was not even knowing that something was going on in my basement. He work one step ahead and seal all the basement cracks plus took care of replacing sump pump lid too and sealing it. From exterior also he install it in such a way that I dont even feel that something extra has been installed in my house. Good job.And on the price I don't think anyone can beat him on price with the qaulity of service he is providing.cheers."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

The natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and water can cause radon to appear in a home. The gas seeps into homes through cracks in foundations, walls, or floors, as well as through gaps around pipes or construction joints. Radon levels are influenced by soil composition, building materials, and ventilation. Poorly sealed or airtight homes can trap radon, allowing it to accumulate.

A homeowner can install a radon mitigation system on their own. But it’s a challenging DIY that requires a lot of knowledge about radon mitigation as well as familiarity with local regulations. You do not want to risk an improper installation that leaves the system unable to detect radon or gives it a shortened life span. Relying on a professional is the surest way to guarantee a successful installation.

If your home has a sump pit, you can integrate it with a radon mitigation system. You can accomplish this by sealing the pump cover with an airtight lid that accommodates radon vent pipes and sump pump hoses. This allows the vent pipe to redirect the radon gas outside of your home.

Yes, many systems include warranties for performance. Confirm terms with your installer.

Keeping radon from getting into your home is much better than having to get rid of it once it's already indoors. While there may not be a way to fully prevent radon from getting into your home, there are things you can do to reduce the gas's ability to enter.

Sealing foundation cracks and openings can help keep the gas from seeping inside. Improving air flow, such as by opening windows, can also be helpful. If you're building your home from scratch, talk to your contractor about using radon-resistant construction to keep the gas out.
