"I used them for mosquito control Weather has a major impact on scheduling, so it was hard to set firm dates for service. Always showed up once they were scheduled. Treatments provided significant, but not total relief from mosquito problem. Price was good compared to other services. Techs were always pleasant and professional."

"Well, we noticed we had termites pretty bad in the back yard and I got online and looked up what to do and the next day Terminex called us and was here that afternoon. I was very pleased with that. I don't have anything to compare it to but I feel like it was pretty expensive but I think as long as it gets rid of the bugs then it will be worth it. Thanks."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Rats are attracted to homes that provide food, water, and shelter. Common attractants include uncovered garbage, pet food left out overnight, crumbs and food spills, and easily accessible pantries. They’re also lured in by leaky pipes, standing water, and cluttered areas like basements or garages. Outdoor factors such as overgrown vegetation or woodpiles near the foundation can create additional nesting opportunities.

Bed bugs bite your body to feed on blood. When they bite, they inject an anticoagulant, which is why you may see blood stains on your sheets if you have an infestation. The bed bugs tend to bite in clusters, so the bite marks will look like itchy, red spots in zigzagging lines of three to five bites per cluster on your skin.

The bites are itchy, but for most people, they do not cause serious or long-term health complications. Itching the wound excessively could lead to an infection, and some people are allergic to bed bugs.

Termites are very hard to remove, especially if you don’t work with a professional pest control service or keep up with routine treatments. Queen termites can lay up to thousands of eggs per day, meaning these pests can spread quickly. You may need to combine DIY treatments and professional extermination services to get rid of a termite infestation.

Squirrels rely heavily on their sense of smell and are deterred by a variety of scents. Some of the most effective smells for repelling them include peppermint oil, coffee grounds, white vinegar, garlic, cinnamon, rosemary, and predator urine. They also have a strong aversion to capsaicin, the compound that makes chili peppers hot, making capsaicin-based sprays an effective repellent for areas like gardens or bird feeders. For a DIY solution, you can create a spray from garlic and vinegar and apply it daily. Additionally, squirrels dislike strong, fresh scents, so placing items like strong-smelling soaps or dryer sheets in areas they frequent can also help keep them away.

You can 100% get rid of roaches, but it takes weeks or months of consistent killing effort, meticulous kitchen clean-up, and airtight food storage. Working with a local roach control pro to fight an infestation enhances your DIY efforts to ensure total elimination. A multi-pronged approach with a roach contractor prevents repeat infestations.
