"I cannot say enough good things about A&W Restoration. They were professional, informative, responsive, and extremely helpful/patient, they answered all of my questions (there were many I might add). They demonstrate a high quality of workmanship; we are thrilled with the final product (roof repair/replacement and gutter replacement). I would highly recommend A&W Restoration, and will continue to utilize their services in the future."

"Lifetime was able to scope out our roof project, provide material options, and a quote faster than the other 4 local companies we considered for our 1,200 sq ft roof replacement were able to simply schedule a visit to / and examine our roof. The project manager (Tom B.) was unbelievably responsive, kept us fully informed through every step of the process, and made sure we had a full understanding of the services we'd be receiving. Besides the exceptionally fast and communicative project management, Lifetime was among the most affordable options we considered. I can't recommend them highly enough, and if you have a chance, ask to work with Tom B!"

"We hired Wells Roofing for roofing repairs from storm damage. They went out of their way to ensure that the job was completed to the high level of quality they expect and the result was above my expectations. Great work and the job came in slightly under bid, which was greatly appreciated. I will definitely be looking to hire them for future roofing needs and would highly recommend them should you need roofing repairs."

"A huge shout out to Chad and his team at Matterhorn Exteriors for superb work and craftsmanship on my new roof. Chad made the process easy, and taught me a lot about roofs as we progressed. He regularly checked in and went above and beyond to ensure all needs were met. The crew left the area clean with no trace of building supplies or debris anywhere. I am very appreciative of Chad and his team and I could give Matterhorn enough stars on the scale here. Easy to do business with + quality work = a win on all fronts. If you need a new roof or any exterior work, reach out to Chad at Matterhorn Exteriors!! Bev S"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Flapping shingles, or shingles that are lifting or curling away from your roof, can be glued back into place using roofing cement or sealant. Apply the glue underneath the shingle, then press it down firmly. You can leave a brick on top of the shingle to hold it in place overnight while the sealant dries.

Yes, capped chimneys should still be vented. Failing to vent a chimney will result in condensation buildup inside the chimney, which commonly results in mold growth. If mold begins to grow in a chimney, it frequently goes undetected and spreads quickly through the home. Mold and moisture can damage the structural integrity of your home, and exposure to mold can cause discomfort and illness in residents.

Sometimes, a local authority won’t approve a request for a roofing permit. This may be because of incomplete documentation, unclear project plans, processing delays, or insufficient communication. There may also be discrepancies with building codes.

If you live on the West Coast or anywhere with the threat of wildfires, you likely want to take steps to fireproof your home. Besides waterproofing and life span, rubber roofing also is noted for being fire resistant. Consult a professional roofer for details on what type of roofing would be best for you if fire resistance is a priority.

Yes, replacing a roof is always a good investment if the current one is in poor condition. Not only will it preserve the structural integrity of the home, but it can also add value at the time of sale. The average return on investment for a new roof is between 48% and 61%. Prospective buyers are also more likely to purchase a home with a recently replaced roof since that means they won’t need to worry about that expense in the near future.
