"David, at Gardner Environmental Services, professionally performed numerous air sample tests inside our home due to a minor smelling of mold in one spot.Fortunately, his lab resource came back with negative results on each location sample David tested. David was reassuring and pleasant to work with. I would recommend his company, to anyone."

"When your basement floods it is a very stressful time and I am so grateful that the first phone call I made was to US Waterproofing. Jose came out right away and quickly diagnosed what happened (Sump Pump failure) and then took me through all the options -- Good, Better, Best to fix it. I ended up going with the Better option. They scheduled the work quickly and I was very happy with the professionalism of the 3 installation people that came out led by Mauricio who installed a new sump pump and a battery backup sump pump so that I have insurance in case the main sump pump fails or there is a power issue. Could not be more satisfied with US Waterproofing. I highly recommend them!"

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

Radon is a cancer-causing radioactive gas that poses serious health risks, infiltrating homes through foundation cracks and unnoticed spaces.

Many radon fans carry a five-year manufacturer's warranty. That said, your radon fan should last between five and ten years. Regular inspections will ensure the fan is operating properly. Unusual or exceptional noise coming from the fan or indications on your manometer or system monitor can immediately tell you that something is amiss.

Your radon mitigation system may be loud because it’s time to replace it. Any sounds are usually from the inline fan that helps create the vacuum and resulting airflow. If you hear a new, loud mechanical or humming noise from your radon fan, it might be time to replace it. Most fans used in radon mitigation systems last up to 10 years, but may need to be replaced sooner.

If your home has a sump pit, you can integrate it with a radon mitigation system. You can accomplish this by sealing the pump cover with an airtight lid that accommodates radon vent pipes and sump pump hoses. This allows the vent pipe to redirect the radon gas outside of your home.

The cost to replace a radon fan ranges from $300 to $600 for the fan itself, with installation adding an additional $200 to $500. Overall, the total cost for replacement can range from $500 to $1,100, depending on factors such as the fan model, home size, and local labor rates. If the fan is part of a larger radon mitigation system, the price may be higher.
