"I love my new driveway. Jeremiah is great to work with. He added added a bump out to our driveway and now we can fit all 3 cars. My daughter no longer parks in the street and my son has a huge basketball court. The install did not take long, cleanup was excellent and my lawn looked untouched. Thank you Allrite paving"

"Hi I hired purified paving to install my drive way it has to be dug out reinstalled big job. I hired them in April due to the weather and all the rain we had to keep putting it on hold. Witch is not at all the companies fault at all I actually enjoyed working with them and would do it again qulity work and honest people. I know that it's not thier fault when the weather is not helping and then one of thier trucks was down for a week so they have been working hard to get to everyone. I have been in constant c pool communication with them and they have been very helpful and worked with my husband because we have some other projects going on as well that interferes with the driveway. I cant wait for more projects that need to get done like my back concrete patio will definetly be using them again"

"Just one word to describe their service.... Awesome! I was in an urgent need to fix my bathroom glass door. I live in the suburbs and despite traffic and same day rush, they arrive and fixed the door. They are very professional and service is top quality. I certainly recommend giving them a call if you need someone to do the job once and well done."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

It’s best to weigh the pros and cons of each material and decide on your priorities for your driveway. Gravel won’t be an appropriate choice if your driveway experiences heavy traffic. You’ll find that you need to level and top it off regularly, which could make the material a much more expensive option.

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.

An ideal driveway gradient is between 2% and 5%. Anything lower than 1% or higher than 15% can cause problems for your car or property. A driveway with less than a 1% slope increases your likelihood of flooding and water damage, while a driveway with a 15% grade or higher can be too steep for safe traveling.

The dimensions of a driveway apron vary based on local building codes, the width of your driveway, and the distance between the driveway and the road. On average, aprons range from 12 to 24 feet wide and 8 to 18 feet long. Typically, the end of the apron connected to the driveway matches its width—such as 10 to 12 feet for a single-car driveway—while the end at the street flares out to allow cars to turn in and out more easily. In some areas, you may not be responsible for the portion of the apron that extends beyond the sidewalk, but this depends on local laws.

Asphalt edging secures the sides of your driveway to prevent crumbling and cracking over time. Most driveways have edges with a 45-degree grading. This helps transfer some of the stress from the asphalt to the ground underneath. If your driveway doesn’t have proper edging, the pressure from your car may break down the edges over time.
