"Canâ t say enough good things. I bought an old house with some small issues with water leakage. After a good rain we would inevitably at least have some water in the basement. After 3 years, I decided it was time to have a dewatering system installed. I received quotes from three companies, not only was PIVOTAL the best value but they also were very trustworthy and made sure I understood every step of the process. On the days of the install, the crews were courteous and extremely efficient. They completed my 800 sq foot basement in a day and a half and left the area spotless. It was almost a month and a half before our first rain and I was dying to see how it performed and it worked as expected. "I had a wonderful experience with MidAmerica Basement Systems & highly recommend them if your having any waterproofing needs. My project: I purchased my home 3.5 years ago & it started getting water in the basement last year after the outside drainage & tiling system put in my previous owners failed miserably. It would literally be full days of pumping water out of multiple locations in my basement. There were issues of moisture even with two dehumidifiers running & subfloors the crew took out & cleaned up after as well. Scheduling: They will schedule a ways out for appointments but only because it's a high demand working system. Others may be able to offer services quicker but there is likely a reason they are not busy. I got several bids in the time I waited for my MidAmerica Basement Systems appointment & encourage you to as well but definitely wait until after your appointment to make a decision. They were not the cheapest but had the best guarantee (100%), best working system, and a few things I've learned in my 20 years of homeownership is if you go cheap & need to redo it your typically spending more than if you did it right the first time & your home is not something to skimp on or take chances. MidAmerica Basement Systems will send you detailed emails as to what you can expect for each appointment. They will mail you a packet of information regarding different systems that work vs fail & throughly explain the dangers & hazards water/moisture in your home will cause. Our basement got so bad from the Derecho the only dry place was in our basement was the shower & my celing developed black mold quickly from the moisture. Not only did they offer a system to waterproof my basement but a whole house dehumidifier & air purifier which would have saved my ceiling if I had earlier. Sales: I had Justin A for sales & he was very thorough in listening to my problems & needs as well as took his time in explaining & showing me how they could fix my issues, how the system works, as well as answering all of my questions with detail & no hurry. He was absolutely great about changes I made in adding work later on (before my appointment) as well. He doesn't make it feel like a sales pitch, is not pushy at all, & really works to get you the most work in your budget (prep & finish work offered), as well as taking his time with you through the entire process. The office crew: The office staff was very polite & helpful. I mostly worked with Desiree S & Kim B who are extremely responsive in working with me. The Crew: My crew consisted of Brandon T, Sam G, & Ethan T who I highly recommend! These young men are the exact type you want on your project! They are polite, respectful, hard working, efficient, trust worthy & have a great work ethic! They not only got the job done in the time allotted but left my basement incredibly clean which I didn't expect. They thoroughly go over the work before & after as well as answer any questions you have along the way & explain in detail any changes if something isn't to plan before just doing something differently. They called before heading to my house as well which I thought was very courteous. I imagine they have a lot of great workers but anyone I know that I send their way, I'll have them ask for these men as the crew on their home. Overall: Overall I give them 5 stars & they earned it all the way. I will say it's winter so not when one typically gets water in their basement so I am unable to review how the system works fairly. I do, however, plan to leave another review after we get some lovely wet Iowa spring weather or melting of our snow mountains to test it out. "I have hired Doug Huff and Team 5 times. I found Doug through a friend recommendation. In all projects, Doug made himself flexible to my schedule, showed up on time, and provided a base quote shortly after a visit. During work of all five projects, Doug walked me through step by step, took pictures of all his work that are included in the receipt of work. Both are which are great value to me. Doug has completed the following at my house: kick-out flashes, tyvek-windows, ground grading, house inspection, replaced window screens and a cedar porch wrap for me. "The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"I didn't expect to have to write this. Even waited a few weeks after the work was "completed" in order to live with the results a bit, but here goes. I had Kitchen and Bath Specialties (Joe Laverdiere ) come to my home to redo my bathroom. They were to replace the drywall, put in a tiled walk in shower where I once had a tub, etc. I assumed it would be a right hand drain since the tub had a right drain. Here are some issues I faced with this company. I came home from work to find they had cut out the concrete (house is on a slab) to put in a center drain instead. That's not the bad part. When he went to get the shower pan, they didn't have a center drain, so he ended up doing the right hand like he should have in the first place! I have no idea how they repaired the concrete under the pan, since that pan was put in while I was at work. The tiles in the shower have some even grouting, but in other places the grout is uneven as the tiles weren't cut quite right. He told me the sanded grout did not need to be sealed, but all articles I have read recommend sealing, so I have done that since they left. The air conditioning/heating vent on the wall is white. It had white screws in it. They took it down to work, and when they put it back up, they used black screws. I have no idea where the white ones went. Not only that, but they put it back up and tried to paint around it, so I had to clean grey paint off the white vent and I had to go buy white screws to put it back properly. I showed him one day where I wanted the grab bar to be placed. He even put some pieces of tape on the wall to remind him where to put it. Guess what? Next day I get home and it's not placed correctly. Of course now there are holes in the tiles, so to redo it would mean replacing the tiles too, so I let it go. Even though it was new drywall, they did not paint behind the vanity. Nor did they paint behind the stool, except for the wall showing below the tank. Since the vanity and stool had to be removed to replace the drywall, the new drywall should have been painted. There was also paint all over the toilet tank lid. I pointed out where the drywall joints were not smooth in a number of places. Joe said once I hung towels on the towel bar that would not be noticeable and that the joint where the wall and ceiling meet over the sink was noticeable because of the type of paint I chose (eggshell) and because the light fixture was facing upward. I told him if it was done correctly there would be nothing to hide or notice. They did work on those two spots, but other places are not smooth. They broke both light bulbs in the fixture but failed to mention it to me. I went to replace them because one bulb burnt out and nearly cut my hand in the process. Now let's talk about cleaning up after themselves. My front and back door had lots of hand prints on them. Ever hear of a door knob? There were spots of some white substance on the concrete on the patio they never cleaned up, but they said it would wash away when it rained. We've had a couple of good rains since and they are still there. There are bits of some adhesive on my carpet that I can't get out. I may have to "trim" it. I asked him to paint the inside of the bathroom door the same color as the trim, a very light grey. Nope. I think all he put on there was white primer. One day I was out mowing the yard when Joe left. I went inside when I was finished mowing and found the bathroom light on, the bedroom light on, the hallway light on and even though the air conditioning was on, the front door was standing open. Another day I noticed the side door to the garage was on so I went out to close it. Not only was the door open but the light in the garage was on too. Walking back to the house I see the outside spigot is dripping water. Seriously? So to sum up, the drywall job was not finished smoothly in all the joints. The painting is not even in some places. They did not wipe down all the dust from sanding before beginning to paint, so I will have to redo. I had to seal the grout and clean the tiles and the tile spacing is uneven. It really sucked the joy out of having the room redone."

"After my Father passed away, and while I was getting ready to sell his house, I noticed the floors did not seem level and they seemed to be getting increasingly worse. I called Advanced Foundation Repair & Replacement to see if they could fix the problem. The owner, Frank Matyiko, came to the house the very next day and diagnosed the problem.  He concluded that the main structural support beam was a rotting wood beam and that it needed to be replaced with an engineered approved steel beam that could support the weight of the floor. I decided to take his advice and proceed. The owner, Frank Matyiko, came out the following week and performed the work in a timely and professional manner.
Advanced Foundation Repair & Replacement leveled the floors with the steel I beam and concreted steel column posts in the basement floor to help support the floor. The floors are perfectly level now.  The team cleaned the job site and were very polite.
