"Excellent from the detailed proposal to the complete cleanup. Derek and crew was professional, prepared, easy to work with, quick and quiet doing the ceiling repairs and fixing ceiling and wall stains, matching paint, and just excellent in all work. They moved the heavy China cabinet, covered all items with taping and plastic and drop cloths. They even shook out the drop cloths outside make certain they were clean."

"Francisco and Judy are wonderful. Both truly show that family run businesses are still the best out there. They gave us the best price and they provided us with the highest quality job. They gave excellent suggestions if we were stumped as to what to do. The fence staining job was done on time and looks great! Highly recommend Kiko's painting."

"I hired 360 Painting of Yorkville to repair drywall tape failures on my main level ceiling, walls in my hallway, master bedroom/bathroom, and powder room, as well as 2 stress cracks under 2 of my windows in our home. Adam came out and walked with me through my home to give us our estimate. The price was very reasonable! All of the work was done in 2 days. The team of painters was very professional and courteous. They arrived right at 8:00 both mornings, and they covered all of my floors, cabinets, counters, and furniture to protect them from dust and paint. Everything was repaired very well and you can't tell where they did any of the work! They matched all of my existing paint perfectly! I found some additional things I decided I wanted fixed after the first day, so I contacted Adam, and he added them to my proposal and the team was still able to complete the job in 2 days, even with all the extra things I added on a whim! And the pricing was still extremely reasonable! I would HIGHLY recommend 360 Painting to anyone looking to either have a basic paint done, or even if you need major repairs!"

Small jobs welcome

"George is a amazing guy. Very punctual, says what he is doing very clearly and more importantly performs quality work. He will give a clear estimate and is flexible with any acceptable changes that we did not initially think abojt. I did my kitchen refinishing and some basement demolition work through him: both of these turned out very good and I am satisfied with Georges service. I will be repeating for any future needs"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

For the longest-lasting exterior paint, consider acrylic or enamel (oil-based) paints. Acrylic paints, including acrylic latex and acrylic enamel, are known for withstanding harsh weather and sun exposure. Enamel-based paints are also one of the most durable options available. While latex paint is common, it typically has a shorter lifespan than acrylic or oil-based options. The paint's finish also affects its durability; a higher gloss finish is generally more durable. For resistance to moisture and cracking, matte and satin finishes can be effective, while a high-gloss acrylic or oil-based paint offers a combination of maximum longevity and durability.

Ideally, it's best to stain your dock once per year. Applying stain doesn't just keep it looking nice and new; it also helps extend the dock’s lifespan. Since you want to ensure water levels are at their lowest, it's best to have this project done by a professional dock repair service in the cooler autumn or early winter months.

Staining or sealing a cedar deck or fence is highly recommended to extend its lifespan and protect it from the elements. While cedar is naturally resistant to mold and mildew, it is not impervious to damage from moisture, sun exposure, splintering, fading, and rot over time. Applying a protective finish creates a shield that preserves the wood's strength and appearance, potentially extending its life by five to 10 years.

When choosing a finish, it's helpful to understand the difference between a sealer and a stain. A sealer sits on top of the wood, whereas a combination stain and sealer soaks into the top layer. Because it penetrates the wood, a stain generally offers better protection against UV damage and rot and lasts significantly longer. For the best results that also preserve the wood's natural color, consider using a near-translucent stain.

To maintain protection, plan on reapplying the stain or sealer every two to three years, either as a DIY project or by hiring a professional.

Yes, beginners can use a paint sprayer, but there is a learning curve. It's important to go slowly, read the instructions thoroughly, and spend some time learning the technique. Watching tutorial videos for your specific paint sprayer model can be very helpful. Before starting your main project, practice on a scrap surface to get used to the sprayer and avoid common issues like overspraying, which can cause drips, bubbles, and other imperfections. For safety, always wear a mask and gloves, and be careful not to touch the sprayer's tip when it's in use, particularly with high-powered airless sprayers.

A wood deck requires annual cleaning and regular inspections for loose or broken boards, nails, and screws. It should be refinished by applying a stain or sealer every two to three years to protect the wood from water damage, rot, mildew, and sun fading. The exact frequency can depend on the climate and the deck's exposure to sun and moisture. If your deck is painted, it will need repainting approximately every 10 years. Signs that your deck needs refinishing include faded, splintering, or warping boards.
