"Adam and his crew worked on my enclosed back porch that suffered from a sinking foundation and rotting posts. They leveled the floor by replacing all the rotted wood and adding more support underneath. They then put new siding all around. They addressed a few concerns I had along the way. I am very pleased with Belmont Builders and I would give them my highest referral to anyone who has a home improvement project. Excellent company!!!!"

"Fantastic John and Jermel were ready to work the next day showed up on time, confirmed their quote based on the picture was accurate, and they quickly demolished the wall while protecting and safely removing the crown molding already there. Made very minimal dust and cleaned everything up afterwards. Would absolutely use again when I need more demo work done, and would definitely recommend to anyone for a quick clean demo job."

"Based on our past experience with AOM (interior painting), we used them to powerwash our home. They had all the appropriate equipment and did an excellent job. Our 20 year old vinyl siding looks totally refreshed. David is easy to work with and goes the extra mile. We will continue to AOM for future projects.

"We brought in this company for an estimate to update a bedroom.  The work included patching of the existing plaster work, painting, running electric outlets and lighting, wall mounting a tv, installing new closet doors, and trimming out the windows.  We were familiar with the owner as he had done work on our house previously.  Happy with the estimate we decided to move ahead with the week-long project.

The owner did the majority of the work himself, and we were very pleased with the results.  The walls and ceiling which had some very large cracks in the plaster had been almost completely patched and sanded smooth.  The new closet doors were installed perfectly along with the new baseboard molding and door/window casing.  Electric was run and two wall sconces and an overhead light fixture was installed.  It's great to finally have some switched lighting in the room.  The painting was flawless.  Overall the room looks completely new.The owner is very professional.  He showed up on time every day, and cleaned up at the end of the day.  He promised to have the work done by Friday, but ended up coming in on Saturday and Sunday to finish the job.  With the attention to detail and overall quality of the work we were happy that corners were not cut and the job was done properly.

We absolutely recommend this company and will likely do work with them in the future."

"They removed the bushes arrived on time, but damaged lawn at bottom of driveway by driving on it. I had to call back to have agreed upon work completed. I wanted landscaping put in, he kept saying he would give estimate for mulch and plants, however never heard back from him. I contacted twice, and it's been over 3 weeks."

Greenhouses and Nurseries questions, answered by experts

The quickest way you can protect plants and trees from frost is to cover them with garden blankets or frost cloths. Also, bringing potted plants or trees indoors is much simpler than trying to cover and protect them outdoors. Remember to anchor blankets with something such as sandbags, fabric pins, or rocks if the forecast calls for strong winds to keep them from blowing away and exposing your trees and plants.

Minor fixes like patching leaks or repainting are DIY-friendly, but structural repairs require professional expertise.

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

Adding burnt charcoal to your garden beds and plant pots can yield several benefits, but there are risks involved, too. Charcoal, particularly biochar, can enhance soil structure, improve water drainage, and increase nutrient retention. When activated, charcoal provides key nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, burnt charcoal, especially from briquettes, can inadvertently alter soil's pH levels and become hazardous to plants. Overall, there are better and less risky soil amendments available, such as vermiculite, perlite, or wood chips.

Eco-friendly materials include sustainably-sourced woods, recycled metals, low-VOC paints, and non-toxic sealants, which reduce environmental impact. Using these in repairs promotes sustainability and can improve indoor air quality and overall building health.
