The water abatement wall was not in Dan's wheelhouse and ended up not working at all, so we weren't able to get the lower cracks fixed. Dan poured us a very nice cap to the seawall and widened it so that it could be walked on. He also created a notch for our pier to be mounted in. He was able to fix a couple of heavily damaged spots above the water line and one significant crack in the seawall. The problem is with the cracks that he wasn't able to fix. Those cracks propagated up into the new cap almost immediately which is unfortunate.
Overall, Dan has extremely good pricing and his flatwork looks excellent. I'm disappointed that the repairs didn't take place when the water level was low enough because it diminishes what would be an otherwise beautiful job. The quality mark is really a B+ or an A-, but Angie's List doesn't allow those. We have patio and driveway work that we will definitely have Dan do when the time comes, so this overall B review isn't really as negative as it might seem. I think dealing with the water was probably too much for Dan, but everything else is fine. I would recommend Molnar Construction for your concrete work.

I hired Altered Surfaces to stain and seal my concrete basement floor. He came out in May and said he'd do the floor for $2500. A few weeks after the floor was done, it started cracking, peeling and bubbling. I contacted Altered Surfaces regarding the problem. He said it sounded like MVT...
Project overall went very well. They had to get re-registered with my village for permit reasons, this took them virtually no time at all to complete with the village. Cost of the project was within my budget where as others were out of my budget. The quality of work and how the shed pad came...
The first winter the concrete from Anderson Concrete fell apart. Thanks to Muffler Concrete, they sealed it after they finished it and it looks great.
We contracted with Dan at the end of September 2013 to perform repairs to our seawall. Our lake fluctuates in height significantly during the year and we wanted the repairs done in the fall because the lake was low. In fact, in October of that year, the seawall was exposed all the way down...

Concrete repair costs range anywhere from about $0.10 to $0.15 per linear foot to fill minor cracks, to about $6 to $14 per square foot to replace damaged concrete slabs. Repair costs vary widely depending on the size and type of work needed. For example, replacing 100 square feet of driveway will cost between $600 to $1,400, on average.
The average cost of stamped concrete is around $12 per square foot, but you might pay anywhere from $8 to $28 per square foot. The average 12-foot by 12-foot patio costs $1,730 on average. Your exact pricing will depend on the patio’s square footage, the condition of the area where you want to pour the concrete, the desired stamp pattern, concrete coloring, concrete grade, and local labor prices. Don’t forget to budget for extra costs like land preparation and additional concrete fortifications if necessary.
Depending on the cost to repair your driveway, it may be more cost effective to tear out and replace it with a new concrete driveway. The cost to repave a driveway ranges between $1,400 and $12,100, including removal of the old concrete. Contact a reputable concrete contractor for advice and an estimate. They may have a good reason for going with repairs or replacement after assessing your driveway. You may also have the option to resurface your driveway or pave over it without taking out the existing one.
It’s possible to create stamped concrete yourself, but we don’t recommend it and it’s often not cost-effective. It’s easy to mess up the pattern of a stamped concrete patio or walkway, leaving you with an unsightly home exterior rather than the elegant solution you wanted. Any mistakes made during the ground leveling and concrete pouring process will also increase the risk of cracks forming on your concrete. Additionally, buying enough stamps to get the pattern in before your concrete cures can cost as much as hiring a professional to do the work for you.
Concrete contractors typically charge anywhere from $6 to $14 per square foot. Cost factors include job size, site prep, base material, accessibility, your location, concrete finish, and concrete thickness. Removal of existing concrete, asphalt, deck, pavers, and grass will cost anywhere from $1 to $6 per square foot. Homeowners can often save money by removing and disposing of existing pavers, decks, and grass. Breaking up and hauling away concrete and asphalt is difficult and time-consuming without the proper equipment and may be worth having the pros do that work.
