"I feel extremely fortunate to have found Vicki through Angie's List !  She is an extremely talented person who is very easy to deal with. She has a breath of knowledge that allows her to accommodate my tastes, but also ensure that the overall design is in sync with the design and location of my home.  She has  a very diplomatic way of suggesting when I'm going astray with my choices and in every case where she has told me "Trust Me"  I have been delighted ! She is very aggressive in helping me find the best pricing and often times will work with the vendors directly  hence saving me the time.  She also has excellent local contacts.  Everyone I've worked with through Vicki has been timely, professional, and highly competent.
My project is far from complete.  I intend to continue to use Vicki and her expert advice until the end !!!!"

"Highly recommend this company. The owner Logan was very responsive when we requested pricing and availability. When he arrived at our house he was very professional and knowledgable. We needed the carpet in our guest bedroom cleaned as we have a new renter moving in. There were a few tough stains from the previous renter that we weren't sure would come out but he recommended a few products that he said should work and sure enough the carpet looks new which saved us from having to replace it entirely. Logan followed up with us a few days later to see if we had any issues with the cleaning after the carpet dried. You really can't find that kind of customer service anymore. We will definitely continue to use this company for all our carpet cleaning needs. Looking forward to booking our next service with him to clean our sofa. Thank you Logan for taking on our job!"

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Upholstering in a Sandpoint home addresses fading from intense mountain sunlight, cracking leather from dry air, and general wear from active, outdoor lifestyles. It also tackles pet scratches, musty odors from seasonal storage, and mismatched or outdated fabrics. Many homeowners use reupholstery or restoration to refresh furniture, ensuring it fits the popular mountain or lake-inspired décor themes found throughout Sandpoint homes.

Helpful?

As homes in Sandpoint age, upholstering needs shift from initial UV protection—important due to the region’s strong sunlight—to addressing humidity-related fabric stretching and joint loosening. Over decades, dry air can cause leather and fabric to become brittle, making restoration or reupholstery necessary. Vintage homes often benefit from comprehensive furniture repair, especially when preserving original hardwood frames that add character to older Sandpoint residences.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Sandpoint should prioritize UV-blocking window treatments or slipcovers for furniture near large windows to prevent fading. Restoring or reupholstering outdoor and patio furniture is wise, given harsh winters. Conditioning leather sofas and chairs with climate-appropriate products helps prevent cracking. Updating high-traffic pieces like dining chairs or basement seating ensures durability during Sandpoint’s long indoor seasons and helps furniture match the home’s style.

Helpful?

Upholstering projects in Sandpoint can be complicated by steep driveways or hillside access, making furniture transport challenging, especially in snowy months. Homes near Lake Pend Oreille may require mold-resistant fabrics due to increased moisture. Rustic log cabins often need upholstery materials that complement wood interiors. Limited local fabric suppliers and narrow vintage home layouts can extend project timelines or require creative restoration solutions for unique furniture pieces.

Helpful?

In Sandpoint, faded fabric on sun-facing furniture, seam separation from temperature swings, and musty odors—especially in lakefront homes—signal the need for reupholstery. Loose cushions, visible dust in upholstery weave, or persistent pet odors are also red flags. Cracking or peeling leather and uneven wear patterns suggest it’s time for restoration, ideally using materials suited to North Idaho’s unique climate and lifestyle demands.
